Ratings and reviews

Booking a ride is is unintuitive and error prone. First you search for your destination by name only. You cannot choose on the map, you must choose from a list that Grab knows. Once selected, the map opens asking you where you would like to be picked up. You cannot check your destination the map until *after* grab starts looking for a driver. Such a bad interface.

The app itself is buggy. Buttons and selections don't always work. However, the two star rating is for the service. Often you can't find a driver within 20 minutes of booking. So plan an extra 20 minutes to reach your destination and you should be safe. Update 5/2023: the above problems are still not resolved, and the app is even more buggy. After waiting 15 minutes with no one accepting the ride, we tried to cancel. I cancelled 6 times (tapping cancel, confirming) but it didn't work.

Drivers tend to cancel last minute. The app is very bad at updating the location of the driver. Sometimes when waiting for a vehicle, it shows the driver just sitting at a location for a long time and not moving. The app almost always gets the estimated time of arrival wrong. We've waited for over 30min multiple times when it's says ETA is 4min. No accountability for the drivers whatsoever.
