Ratings and reviews

The app itself is buggy. Buttons and selections don't always work. However, the two star rating is for the service. Often you can't find a driver within 20 minutes of booking. So plan an extra 20 minutes to reach your destination and you should be safe. Update 5/2023: the above problems are still not resolved, and the app is even more buggy. After waiting 15 minutes with no one accepting the ride, we tried to cancel. I cancelled 6 times (tapping cancel, confirming) but it didn't work.

Overrated! Can't use credit card for payment when you land in a foreign country. Sounds like a scam and collusion with the taxi industry. Used app for weeks then suddenly, in another country, can't verify payment. Living near a big condo? You can't select your pick up point, you have to pick from one of their drop off points. Unreliable app.

Excellent and must have app for living in Thailand and any other country that uses grab! Only negative is that when ordering food or groceries, there is a lot that is in Thai and/or another language. Thankfully, there are pictures for everything and you can always screenshot then use google translate, but it would be great if there was a way to have a built-in translator. That has caused very few issues for me, but it is an issue. However, NOT one that should scare someone away from using this.

What's new

With a few long weekends and the summer holidays coming up, Grab wanted to make life extra easy - at home and while you travel around the region. With our new language settings feature, you can book a car, a bike, a meal or an activity in your preferred language, be it Bahasa, Thai or Chinese.

To change the setting in your app, simply update to v5.256 and go to Account > Profile > Language. Choose your preferred language and you're all set to explore!
