Works well on my Samsung phone and tablet. Two issues: I would like to have more information about the conventions used by the App. One feature which I would also like to see is the fixing of contracts, e.g. so that the same hands could be played successively in 3NT or 4H too see the difference.
Online play removed? ETA: Reboot fixed Has the online play feature been removed? The button is still visible on my app, but tapping does nothing. I see that the button is also missing from the screen shots here. Not terribly impressed at the moment, as I really preferred playing with human partners (the AI bidding doesn't have enough customization on the tablet version). [Rebooting fixed the issue!]
I've been using Bridge Baron since it came on a floppy for PC's, and this version since my first smartphone. I do miss the bidding flow charts from the ancient versions, especially since I find patterns have evolved in the years I wasn't paying attention to bridge. This app has a good game play mechanics and solid play. There are a few things that could be better. ... sometimes when I think "huh, how can you get that quick score result " and do a machine replay, I find the program can't get it either.
A great piece of bridge software All in all a great experience - the only letdown is it can be quite unstable (it generally doesn't survive being backgrounded). If I could wish for something it'd be greater control over the bidding - the basic system we use at my club doesn't quite match any of the presets and options to choose whether or not to use Ogust, Stenberg, Jacoby and Texas transfer, Grand Slam Forcing, etc. would be a huge boon.
Not bad It plays well, but impossible to get to Settings once game started. Only way is to force the app to close then reopen to get to main menu. And when game is over you get score but no easy quick-to-see number of tricks each side made. MVP on laptop better.
Partner is terrible bidder! I play Standard American 5 card majors, and have set n/s and e/s to SSYC at the intermediate level. BB partner plays well, but his bidding makes no sense. He promises support and/or points he doesn't have, and puts us in ridiculous contracts. He insists on suits he can't support. And bids higher when he should stop. The playing experience is great, but the bidding is very frustrating. I feel like I am bidding against my partner. I wish I knew of a better program for Android.
The Android version of iBridgeBaron, which earned an "A" rating from the American Contract Bridge League.
Interface is designed to fit wide range of Android Devices (phones, tables and in between).
Added special fix for Galaxy Note running Android older that ver 4 (Ice Cream Sandwich).
