I've been using Bridge Baron since it came on a floppy for PC's, and this version since my first smartphone. I do miss the bidding flow charts from the ancient versions, especially since I find patterns have evolved in the years I wasn't paying attention to bridge. This app has a good game play mechanics and solid play. There are a few things that could be better. ... sometimes when I think "huh, how can you get that quick score result " and do a machine replay, I find the program can't get it either.
Excellent Bridge program Plays very well, and I really like how it plays different systems so you can practice. The 5th star will come when the game is more stable. I have had to install several times because the app would hang on startup and would not start again.
Does not fiction well on a Samsung tablet 8.0 The reviews are not available and the only way to shut it down is via the task manager. Otherwise, the screen remains frozen. Once a deal had been made, the only way to initiate a new deal is to play the present one! $22 is a lot for a malfunctioning game.
Online play removed? ETA: Reboot fixed Has the online play feature been removed? The button is still visible on my app, but tapping does nothing. I see that the button is also missing from the screen shots here. Not terribly impressed at the moment, as I really preferred playing with human partners (the AI bidding doesn't have enough customization on the tablet version). [Rebooting fixed the issue!]
Lollipop problem Slowly, hand by hand, the bidding buttons are all getting lit up together. I have now had four lit at the same time. The app still carries on running but looks confusing. Run on Motorola moto x gen 2 that was shipped with lollipop.
Fun, but opportunities to allow more features I think this is a fairly good bridge app. However, there are a bunch of features that I think are missing if you're looking to play against the AI. 1) It offers you different levels of bidding systems (SAYC Basic, SAYC Intermediate, SAYC Advanced) but doesn't tell you what the differences are. There's no list of what Intermediate or Advanced introduces. 2) There's no way to choose the conventions you want to use or not use. I want to use multi-Landy, but it doesn't look like it's available. 3) There's no way to display or check the carding. I lead K from AK at NT, but the AI leads A. I can't change that. 4) Playing duplicate there's no concept of vulnerability. In a club game some boards will have will have neither, one, or both pair artificially vulnerable. Overall, I think it's quite fun, but would like to see a little more use configuration options available. (EDIT - I was wrong, there is the concept of vulnerability)
