I've been using Bridge Baron since it came on a floppy for PC's, and this version since my first smartphone. I do miss the bidding flow charts from the ancient versions, especially since I find patterns have evolved in the years I wasn't paying attention to bridge. This app has a good game play mechanics and solid play. There are a few things that could be better. ... sometimes when I think "huh, how can you get that quick score result " and do a machine replay, I find the program can't get it either.

Fun, but opportunities to allow more features I think this is a fairly good bridge app. However, there are a bunch of features that I think are missing if you're looking to play against the AI. 1) It offers you different levels of bidding systems (SAYC Basic, SAYC Intermediate, SAYC Advanced) but doesn't tell you what the differences are. There's no list of what Intermediate or Advanced introduces. 2) There's no way to choose the conventions you want to use or not use. 3) The "interpret" feature is buggy and often wrong.

User interface is weak When playing a game you can't go back to main menu. I have to exit the app, usually kill the process then restart. Recognizing the back button on the phone would be an easy and useful addition. During game play it would be helpful to click on the bids to get an explanation. I don't always know what system the computer is playing

Excellent Bridge program Plays very well, and I really like how it plays different systems so you can practice. The 5th star will come when the game is more stable. I have had to install several times because the app would hang on startup and would not start again.
Best Bridge since 2003 I've owned 12 PAID releases of Bridge Baron over the years. I wish I could have gotten 11 of them as upgrades but no such luck. But I have yet to find a better engine whether it be on IOS, Android or Windows version 26!

Does not fiction well on a Samsung tablet 8.0 The reviews are not available and the only way to shut it down is via the task manager. Otherwise, the screen remains frozen. Once a deal had been made, the only way to initiate a new deal is to play the present one! $22 is a lot for a malfunctioning game.

Lollipop problem Slowly, hand by hand, the bidding buttons are all getting lit up together. I have now had four lit at the same time. The app still carries on running but looks confusing. Run on Motorola moto x gen 2 that was shipped with lollipop.

After you updated to 2.27 did it help? Online play removed? ETA: Reboot fixed Has the online play feature been removed? The button is still visible on my app, but tapping does nothing. I see that the button is also missing from the screen shots here. Not terribly impressed at the moment, as I really preferred playing with human partners (the AI bidding doesn't have enough customization on the tablet version). [Rebooting fixed the issue!]
Have enjoyed playing this but recently something has altered and the cards don't display properly. I suspect that the problem may be some incompatibility (I have a Nexus 9 tablet running Android 7.0) but despite asking for help from the support guys, I've heard nothing from them.
Latest update has ruined the app! Since latest update online play doesn't work at all on my Nexus7. Previously 'advanced Acol bidding' was crap but at least online play worked although it was necessary to reboot my tablet before running the app.
Not bad It plays well, but impossible to get to Settings once game started. Only way is to force the app to close then reopen to get to main menu. And when game is over you get score but no easy quick-to-see number of tricks each side made. MVP on laptop better.
Some quirks This is a good app generally. It has a habit of doubling when it ought not and there are times when the result it thinks you should achieve seems impossible. Despite this though I play it a lot and well worth the money.
A great piece of bridge software All in all a great experience - the only letdown is it can be quite unstable (it generally doesn't survive being backgrounded). If I could wish for something it'd be greater control over the bidding - the basic system we use at my club doesn't quite match any of the presets and options to choose whether or not to use Ogust, Stenberg, Jacoby and Texas transfer, Grand Slam Forcing, etc. would be a huge boon.
Crashes and expensive I was expecting a program much better than free software. It crashes regularly. It is not very good at teaching. Suggested bids are not consistent with SAYC definition in Wikipedia.
Great app until this glitch Please help! This app has worked fine for the last year on my android, but suddenly I can only see half the card when east or west plays a card. I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times, but problem remains. Any suggestions?
Poor Android design Can't get to settings once play has started, not even after the deal has been played. Card layout is confusing if a suit is void (no gap between spades and clubs for example). Then it crashed when I tried to add weak twos to the bidding convention.
Problems not fixed. Nexus 4: Upgrade to Android 5 brings new problems, highlights that interface has never been properly finished. Sent in screen grab some time ago, no action so I'm downgrading.

Please install the update from Friday Afternoon, can you send us screen shot of BridgeBaron on your device. Very buggy Excellent game play but very buggy with menus etc. In order to do anything much but play game after game I have to force stop. Especially annoying as expensive for an app.
Stuck at version 2.47 Someone needs to explain why this app has been stuck at version 2.47 for nearly a year while the iPad version is 3.52, with significantly greater functionality. In particular this lacks any detailed explanation of its conventions, and offers no ability to choose which individual conventions to play. Neither is hard to implement and both are available on the iPad.
Stuartb Excellent but would improve if able to choose some aspects of the convention and know the signals and discards of partner. An overall choice of a basic system not so useful for playing and bidding development
Good but could be so much better. Annoying that the Android version lags the Apple version and hasn't been updated since March 2014. Improvements needed are in the clunky 'Undo', the lightweight 'Interpret' and the non-existent convention choice system. Is it too much to ask for definitions of the conventions used? Apart from that, it's great.
Partner is terrible bidder! I play Standard American 5 card majors, and have set n/s and e/s to SSYC at the intermediate level. BB partner plays well, but his bidding makes no sense. He promises support and/or points he doesn't have, and puts us in ridiculous contracts. He insists on suits he can't support. And bids higher when he should stop. The playing experience is great, but the bidding is very frustrating. I feel like I am bidding against my partner. I wish I knew of a better program for Android.
Excellent for me as a beginner I just like the fact that Bridge Baron allows me to practice playing as much and often as I want. I am still a relative beginner and I need all the practice I can get. The only thing that has been a bit of a problem is that though it is configurable, we haven't been able to get it to do bidding quite the way we do when we actually get together and play.
Pretty good This worked well on my Samsung S4. It doesn't work well on my new S6. I can't access the menu to get an interpretation of the bidding. It pops up for a split second then disappears.
Excellent but... Lately it's been crashing on start up. If working, it's a good implementation of bridge game on small screen, though with some odd bidding at times. Samsung Gallaxy 4S.
A pretty good attempt but no longer works. Despite previous reviews, I've had no stability issues with this app at all. The online gaming side is a bit flaky but that may easily be connection issues more than anything. The problem with most bridge games is the strange and unreliable play that they sometimes exhibit. Baron is not perfect by any means but it's not too bad. Unfortunately after a recent Android update this no longer runs on my phone. There have been no updates to correct this.
Not worth the money Update from 11/1/15: Still having problems with unresponsiveness. Online play will not work, logging in is completely inoperative. Do not spend a dime on this software fail. Obviously Great Game Products doesn't read these reviews. I often wonder if they even use the internet.
Good bridge, frustrating interface I love playing bridge on Bridge Baron, but have been frustrated by how I can’t access the settings from in-game (either the button isn’t visible or doesn’t work) and by how often it crashes when I return to a game from another app
Annoying bug The current bid display doesn't get cleared. Otherwise a very creditable implementation
Excellent game play, probably the best on Android (Nexus 5 &7) I'll state straight away that I am a novice to Contract Bridge but like to play whist type games. I've been playing the AI Factory Spades for quite a while but the game play is not strong enough to give an experienced player a real challenge so I was looking for something else. I was hoping to find an app for Solo Whist but didn't find one. Yes, I had been avoiding Bridge but its the only way forward. Initially, the bidding protocols to a novice appears quite daunting but a useful feature of Bridge Baron is the hint button so you can get to the playing the hand. After a while I started picking up how to bid and am now reading a book that explains it. Playing Bridge has come somewhat addictive; I may even have to find some actual people to have a game with! The game is visually appealing with good function, bidding is straight forward and game play is strong. As a novice I thoroughly recommend it along with a suitable book. I am reading "Bridge for Complete Beginners" by Paul Mendelson.
Bought 5 years ago and for 5 years still can't play an opponent. How can I play an opponent online?...please let me know before I contact my lawyer thanks!
Latest Android update stops tasks Marshmellow stops access to play items such as "review" and "interpret". Most Android apps have a verticle ellipsis in top right hand corner to access hidden menu items.
Conventions are a problem The play and score comparisons are good for a mobile app. However on my Samsung 5 I can't tell what conventions it's playing, in any detail. Nor can I alter them.
A good program, but often it stops working on my phone and has to be re-installed. Also, it would be great if some modern conventions could be programmed into it.
Not as good as iPad version I play BB a lot, on my iPad until I smashed the screen and now on my Samsung Tab. For some strange reason, the Android version is missing many of the iPad useful features. Why???
The best bridge app there is The bidding and cardplay skills along with the range of options available easily make this the best bridge app on the market. It is well worth the price but that is not to say that it couldn't be improved. It would be very nice if there was some embedded documentation explaining the bidding systems available in some detail. This version seems to be well behind the iphone version in terms of features and functionality.
I have been spoiled by the desktop version of Bridge Baron. In order to spoil myself I guess I will have to dig out my laptop so I can have the tablet portability as well as the bidding perks of the "full" version.
It shouldn't even be offered yet. Beta version at best Until they get an Android programmer on their team, (time to fire cousin Billy-Bob) they should not be charging for this catastrophe. So what if it is a great Bridge program on other platforms, it is not a $20 app yet.
Great app. Only change i would like to see is the ability to view all hands at one time after the hand has been played. Score pop up after hand is played covers some of the cards in the hands
A lot of faults Since update can no longer use interpret, use score, review or use the help option. Shame as used to be good.
