Poor : waste of money Might as well use Trip Advisor : this guide does nothing to advance my knowledge of good beer or cover any of the country pubs I prefer to frequent. I had some regard for CAMRA .... but forget it. Use the price of this app to buy yourself a good pint in a place you enjoy !
Not a lot of use. As other reviewers have mentioned it fails to list many decent pubs in the area whilst listing many (in my view) less worthy. I live in Oxford and there is no mention of the Turf???? Also extremely limited in what it offers without a subscription. This is not helping the local pub industry. I shall be sticking to the Casque Marque App.
Now I have started to use it more I realise my last review was a little harsh. As I have travelled a bit since installing it, it seems to do well when I am in different locations.
What...? Used to have this App before it was updated and at best it was OK - Just. Now the cheeky buggers want to charge £4.00 for it. Just use Trip Advisor or Google instead. Luckily for me I was able to find a decent pint long before the mobile telephone and the abbreviation App had been invented, so don't waste your time, money and storage space on this rip-off rubbish. Uninstalled.
Only contains listings of pubs from Camra's Good Beer Guide which is exactly what it's for, saves me lugging around the actual book and it's also an up to date listing so doesn't have pubs that are shut or change of Licencee etc. Best if used in conjunction with Casque Mark and other apps to get an all round drinking experience.
I'm a Camra member and expected more from a 'Taster' version than a list of pubs near me that I already know, and a load of messages telling me to subscribe if I want any useful info. How can I tell whether to buy the app if I can't even try it out properly?
* Fixed problem searching for pub names that contain punctuation.
* Prevent crash when buying subscription
* Updated to use information from the Good Beer Guide 2017.
* Preparation to help upgrade and transfer your subscription to the new CAMRA GBG App that will be available soon. See http://camra.org.uk/gbg-mobile for more information.
