Appalachian Trail Forecast provides detailed weather information for shelters and campsites along the Appalachian Trail. It is built using the same data as ATForecast.com.
As hikers, we like to check the weather regularly for any changing conditions that can occur in the Appalachian mountains, but cell phone service is usually poor in many locations depending on your provider. To help with this situation, we make the next 100 miles of Appalachian Trail weather available offline when you view a shelter with an available cell signal.
Searching through individual shelters can be time consuming, so we’ve added the ability to search for shelters by state, a mileage you can specify, or by allowing your phone’s GPS to determine the closest shelters to your location.
The Appalachian Trail can be a beautiful, but also a terrifying place if you are not prepared for the weather. You can use our forecasts to be ready before your hike as well as during it.
