I've watched News on 6 for 10 years, and I've used their phone app for 5 years too. A few weeks ago the app went through a dramatic change to its notifications. Now they only give you enough info to tease you, and forces you to open the app to provide the same amount of info from past notifications. sounds petty.... but it makes a world of difference when it comes to weather, traffic, and sometimes crime locations. I'm reluctantly switching to Channel 2.

I just tried to open the app and now they want me to "allow" them to access my location ALL the time. If I wanted to do that I would have done that in the first place. I don't use the app enough and I don't want notifications blowing up my phone with useless info. I really hate notifications for stuff I didn't ask for. I work for a living and it takes up too much time to check my phone every time my phone buzzes. I am deleting this app and going to use another station.

recently news on 6 removed their Chromecast feature from this app. unfortunately I can no longer put it up on the TV so I will need to find an alternative news source to watch
