The app is far from an improvement on the classic app! It hasn't added any real extras and is complicated to use! It does the job but much preferred the classic app! Constantly crashing and having to restart the apps between caches! Shame you had to spoil a good thing making regular users who paid for the classic app pay again for a subscription to a much worse product! At least you all made some money though 😉
All of the features I used to enjoy that were available in the app I paid $10 for are now subscription based in this new app. It's nice to see Geocaching® is stealing money from a treasure hunt that's run by the user base (for the most part). I tried using the "classic" app with my daughter today only to find out the service has been discontinued. I'm glad the whole family bought copies of the "classic" app so we could play together. What's more enjoyable than throwing away money? Seriously though, the least they could have done was thrown out a free year's subscription or something.
You need more support for the friends, adding them, deleting them, etc. And specially, you should add features to the ones who already pay for the Geocaching Classic app, I am one of those, I pay for this, and now I have the same features of a free user one.. Few months ago, normal caches are now premium caches. This game has become a business. The good and free caches no more available of you don't have a subscription. So sad, it was a great mundial game. I can't afford paying the subscription. I already pay when the app was a paid one, and at this date, I have the same features as the ones who don't pay anything. Simply unacceptable.
Works great, though I really dislike the way caches are displayed when zooomed out... Bulk displayed as a number. Would give it 5 stars if this feature was reverted to the old display.
You pay for this App but get access to nothing. You have to buy a membership to see 90%+ of caches. Slap in the face to those of us who bought the app. Many other great apps out there.
Works pretty well most of the time, but an occasional problem here and there. It does make most things far easier than using the online site via phone.
Now you can:
- View geocaches you DNF’d (did not find) on the map & in your lists.
- View Attributes on the cache details page and never be unprepared to climb a tree again.
- Save offline Lists in one tap. You’ll also see a yellow dot on your Lists menu when it’s out-of-date.
- See a new intro to geocaching when creating an account.
- Access the Help Center. But you’re all experts by now, right?
