I'm not sure what folks are talking about but this just works great. I purchased a training course that was made up of about 20 hours of video and a 250'ish page PDF of course material. Everything was accessible instantly on my phone in addition to through the Gumroad webpage. The video streaming is great looking quality wise. If I had one critique it would be really nice to send the video to my chromecast directly in the app, but I just used the screen casting option on my phone and that worked fine.

Nice try I tried to buy some music tutorials. It managed to download the PDFs just fine. Then it says 9 hours to download 4 video files over a 4gLTE connection?! And then it never downloads them. EDIT: just noticed that it burned through 1.72 GIGABYTES to download a couple PDFs, 3 mp3s, and half a video file. What the hell?!

Cannot even log in with a valid account I bought a book and can only read it in a browser since no attempt to log in even with a fresh password works. The reading experience on the website is also bad. Authors, please check out other sites to publish your book, Leanpub is a good example, users get to download PDF versions of your book and don't need to use such an abysmal service.

I can't get anything to work. I hate this app. Does anyone know how to get my book out of this app without losing it. The hyper links don't work. In a 300 page book you have page up every time you want to start reading. This app is unbelievably stupid I can't believe this is on the internet. I think a two year old could have done a better job.

Doesn't work I bought some video tutorials from a freelance artist and needed gumroad to view on phone. It keeps downloading, never completes anything!! I can't watch anything! Who made this app? Please fix it! Wish I'd seen the reviews before purchasing. This is ridiculous and frankly, i'm appauled by the programmer who has convinced freelancers to put their work on this platform! Get to work and fix this!

WHAT ARE YOU DOING? I follow and post this show religiously. .OMG! I am going to stick to youtube...What the H.E.Double hockey sticks are you doing?

really glad they made this... would rate 5 stars if there was a way to bookmark my spot. Bought a 7 hour video marker tutorial and have to write down where I leave off, only minor complaint. π
Unable to open I downloaded Gum Road on an Android smart phone. When trying to open the app it locks on the very first page that reads something like 'this is the place to listen to'.......and will not go further. Can't even register to get a login and password screen. So, in short, it's completely worthless.
This app does not allow me to bookmark and save the spot I've stopped reading. I have to go through the whole book to get back to where I was nor does not give you the option to shortcut back to your stopping point. The app doesn't give me any options to look and add other books to my collection or anything. I'm disappointed in this app.
Sorry but the android version isn't equipped with the gumroad store as well as no option to arrange your collection... after some research it seems the apple version has more features. Frankly, it feels unfair and lackluster.
Crashes and buggy I have a Samsung S6 with Verizon, and Gumroad crashes alot, and you have to hit OK twice for it to go away, then start your track again. It doesn't always respond to buttons being pressed (i.e. can't get it to pause when you press the soft key), and it will randomly start playing, even if your phone is just sitting in your desk, doing nothing. I've resorted to just turning the volume down on my media, so if anything happens, it's not disruptive. Also, I remember login took forever (buggy, wouldn't accept).
Hate it I got a book from Amazon and it gave me the link to go to this app (pretty much, few other steps but yeah) and I download the file and it still doesn't show. I tap on it to open it and it says the file can't open. I click on the button on the app to play it and it just says its downloading but it does nothing, it sat there on my phone "downloading" for 4 hours... With no progress, it wasted my money and its a waste of space!
Terrible execution Their website is great. This is a disaster . The icons in my library are not even aligned. The icon contains some zip files. This app won't open them. What is the point of claiming a seamless experience but not providing one? I think Gumroad should stick to its web platform and move to mobile only when they are truly ready. They are just screwing their reputation this way.
Doesnt work I got a free audio book but when I click on it nothing happens. There is no optionto play it and there is no menu to goto to find the book somewhere else within the app to play it. Poor functionality. Not user friendly.
Audio is great.... But i was expecting for a video to play it just catches my attention when i can see what there talking about. If not my mind tends to stray off the subject. If you could fix the video, it just gives me audio with a black screen at times.
Great app works fine. Would like Seller features. Not sure what's up with some of the one star reviews I haven't had a problem with what this app offers. - Regardless I was hoping to be able to manage my products and promote on my phone.
Useless This has already wasted far too much of my time trying to get it to work but it seems futile. The app simply is flawed and needs some programming work to make it functional and intuitive.
I don't even know what it's doing on my phone, It was supposed to be spn autoposter. No sign of that, and it asks me to login without giving me a password, 'password reset' fails. What a waste of space.
Not sure what to say. I bought one single book distributed with Gumroad, and the app will quickly download the file for it and proceed to do... Nothing. Just spins there saying "Downloading" even though the file transfer was incredibly fast on my connection. This app for displaying written media has critically failed at its one and *only* job. I can't rate it more than 1 star until this changes.
Close to useless I don't get the point of this app. Bought a couple of books/courses on the website. The app can download some humongous zip file, that then have to be unzipped on the phone/tablet.
Surprised It actually worked. After reading some of the reviews I figured I was screwed as everybody else and wasted my hard earned money. Well. I actually got what I came for. Bicycle Touring In One Hour - Alee Denham. It took a little work and Drop Box but I finally got the 35mb PDF file download to my computer. Amazing.
Can't log into the app, and when I go through the browser it says no content found. So its useless and has wasted the money I spent on the downloads I wanted to view.
No problem found I see tons of negative comments and a bad star score, the the app works good for me. Although it is just a bit buggy and crashes sometimes but overall it's good.
nice concept listen, I could be wrong, but I always thought that when a book says it will download, it should actually do that instead of show a small spinning icon for thirty minutes plus with no discernible progress
Impossible I bought a book online and to view on mobile this app is required. It is a terrible reading experience and the interface is no good. If you tap the screen it goes to the table of contents and you lose you spot, and it also randomly goes back to the table of contents so I'm unable to read, it's like having somebody standing by and closing my book every paragraph.
lousy app streaming is extremely slow. volume is soft or no sound. purchase does not reflect in the library at all. after sales service is slow and almost not responsive. have to download adobe flash on comp and the not user friendly app on phone in order to watch.
The only complaints are that I can't skip to a specific page, and I can't choose the order of the books in my library. If I accidentally click the back button, I have to scroll through everything I have read to get to the page I left off on, and the books I have are not in any order and I have no sorting capabilities. Other than those little annoyances, this is a great, easy to use app.
I bought a series of 31 yoga videos. The problem is that I can either download all of them or none of them. There's no option to download just the ones I need. As well as taking up vast amounts of space, it also takes hours to complete. So incomes problem 2. There's no way to stop it switching to your 3G when you leave wifi. So I've wasted most of my data and I still don't have all of them downloaded. Such a pointless app.

I purchased Chordie 7+ for Windows and it worked right out the gate except for there was no Guitar / notation and that's the reason I purchased it so that was disappointing. I'm running windows 10 , 64 gigs of ram, in 64 bit and i7 quad core if this is helpful to anyone. I sent an email to there support team and are waiting on a response. Also I was asked to create an account with a password still haven't been able to find were to log in after doing so. Waiting! !!!!! I'll return for rating after I hear from support. Right now I think 3 is fair, let's see how long it takes them to fix my problem.
DON'T BOTHER This app makes false promises. It really a waste of time and space. All its good for is eating up your space. Does not do what it claims. All i can do is read on it and thats not an easy thing to do.
Sorry rubbish, failed to work. Update: did refund quickly, thank you. Bought set of articles from new advent. This app fails to even load the articles or download them. They claimed to have fixed but neither my iPad mini or Samsung note 3 can get it to work. Requested full refund, simply doesn't work as others have commented. However the idea is good if it works and say it doesn't! !
Too many steps I understand that someone is giving something away for free here, but there needs to be a better way to access it. Downloading a zip file is absurd for a mobile device.
Needs SD card support!!! Works great but the product I'm using is over 3 gigs and growing weekly. I desperately need to move data to my SD card.
I created my account using Twitter to authenticate on the gumroad website, but that option isn't available on the mobile client! So I just bought a product that is impossible for me to use except via the web browser. Utterly useless, I hope Dave Rapoza knows his choice to use gumroad is killing his potential sales.
Doesn't work I can't open what I want to view and it's been like this for months. Sent several emails and no response and no update to fix the problem. They simply don't care.
Refuses to open on my android. Insists that I live in a different country than I do, even when I reset and select the correct country, which appears to gum up the whole system. This is a problem that is peculiar to this app alone.
Off line content does not work. I bought an e book with audio content few weeks ago. Every time I want to see the content off line, the app download more than 500 files even if I already downloaded it. So, I have many duplicates.
No Move to SD option. Cannot select individual files in a season to keep offline, so 1GB files sit on Internal directory with no option to move to SD. Nor does it bookmark where a file plays to, so I have to forward through on restart. A simple interface is great but this is getting ridiculous.
Does not work The videos will not play on my lgg2. I have the latest software for the phone. Any ideas will help. I would like to use this app. The vlc video player will play the videos. Everything I wanted. I rated at 5 π
