Good... but could be better... I'm a news junkie and out on the road in my job I rely on my phone to find out what's going on. So I decided to try this app out. GOOD: I like the visual layout... also easy to go from one category to another. BAD: The selection of news to choose from. Very limited... very repetitious (several sources had the exact news stories) and was slanted a little. Get more sources, less overlapping and more diversity and I'll rate higher.
It turned awful. It might as well just be Huffington Post now, and it's terrible. Half of the stories don't even load what you are looking for when you hit the continue reading button. I've been using this news app since Windows Mobile 6 ran on some of the best phones on the market and now I'm done with it. Thankful for all the years of free content in one place though, and the couple of times I had to pay for stuff I didn't mind.
The interface was getting better. Content is worse. I'm guessing Sprint management messed up this company after the purchase. Having to click "read more" on every news article is not useable for me. I need offline access to the full article. I agree with other reviews, bring back the AP feed. As of February 1st it looks like all categories require the read more button. I'll wait for the next update to see if these items are fixed before I use the app again. After that uninstalling.
Disappointed Does not update. Gets stuck on a certain day. Sports Illustrated nor Dear Abby have recent events/into. Uninstalling.
Not what it used to be I loved the older version because it was clean, compact, no nonsense news. The AP feeds stopped working in the new year so I finally upgraded to the latest version. It's slower, headlines are incomplete, not as efficient to use then it force closes / hangs. It was a great app... now uninstalled.
Not updating anymore? Some sections haven't updated in months. In the People section for instance, the top story is about the Superbowl still. I also miss just general top news and world news. Why did this app go downhill so bad? It's like someone came in, changed everything, realized how bad it was, and abandoned it. Sad.
