This app is always wrong! It will predict a storm is coming in 5 hours when its actually arriving just now, and never correct itself! Or a storm will change course hours ago and miss us completely, but the app will still say 100% rain. Its totally useless.
I love the look of the app and the widget in my pull down (notifications area). Problem is the notification widget won't update until I launch the app. And the settings menu in the app only has one update setting: update when launch app. The settings menu is also not so good. There is no way to return to the "home page" of the app from the menu. Loved it other than those two.**Thanks for quick reply, glad to know you are still very involved in the app. Sry I failed at finding the auto-refresh, didn't think to look under notifications, didn't put that together. Back in menu navigation does work but I'd like to see the 1Weather logo take you back to landing. This is more intuitive. Appreciate and will give the app another couple days.
This was working top notch. As of last update: I'm in the middle of a massive winter storm - with no warnings & predictions available or showing. As everyone else is saying, no matter what you do, you cannot stop the ongoing temp showing up in the top of your phone or in your drop down notifications menu. Also, I want to say there used to be a link in Forecast Discussion that brought you to NWS or NOAA? I could swear it was within the app somewhere. Maybeee it was in the WARNINGS. We travel heavily and need the functionality back - minus the additional ads. 8/
I *HATE* that there is a permanent push notification and the temp on my status bar. I want to get rid of them and don't see how to under any setting! If someone could tell me how - or even if - I can turn them off, please share! Otherwise I'm going to drop this off my phone entirely! *EDIT* The advise on how to turn it off didn't work. Everything is unchecked, app rebooted, even restarted phone. Nope. Still there. *EDIT 2* No, didn't work. I already dropped it, moving to a new app. Loved it before this last update, enjoy it turned annoying.
As many others have said, this was great until the recent update. Now the time in the 5x2 home screen widget (not sure if it has a name since I've removed it) doesn't update, the weather status is wrong (the widget says one thing, when I open the app it says something else), and the unstoppable temp in the status bar is annoying. The issue with the widget may be related to the "local" location. I noticed in the app that, when I looked at the local conditions, they weren't up to date. When I looked at the conditions associated with the city I was in, they were correct. In sure this is confusing but hopefully it helps. Will be removing this app because of the wrong data.
Clock widget does not sync with system time, I have to manually refresh the widget to display the correct time. I have ongoing notifications turned on. They said this was fixed but not for me. Edit: in response to dev, I'm using the 4x2 clock widget Edit2: ongoing notifications were on, minimum priority. Yes, the app is optimized for better battery life. I don't often open the app, I only check the widget and the notification, so I don't know whether it stays in the background or not.
• New 2x3 Widget
• Further optimized background updates
• Location search improvements (searching for same location after failure)
• Drawer performance enhancements
• No notification when ongoing is off
• Improved scrolling performance (Enabled via Settings, Other)
• Fixed screenshot sharing
• "Remove Ads" menu item does not appear in Pro
