It's one of the best financial management app, I've used anMoney for a long time (was discontinued) and was now looking for a worthy replacement. After looking at many alternatives, Expense IQ seems to tick all boxes including numerous reports, split transactions, recurring bills, budget. Also remembers category for a particular payee based on previous entry (saves time). On 9.7inc tablet please add ability to switch from landscape to portrait mode (constantly flipping tablet around is a niggle when it's mainly used in portrait orientation)
Froze on my phone on Feb 16 which resulted to messed up files after restart. Same thing even after uploading the previous day back up. Reported it 3x already but not getting any reply until now. What a shame!!! Can't use it til now since all my accounts are messed up.
I was and am a fan of the original program "Easy Money" so I decided to give Expense I a try. Personally I prefer the original UI but I'm sure I'll like this one once I'm used to it. Otherwise, I think this is the superior program since it is capable of doing more. I like that you can use Expense IQ as a simple tool or a sophisticated banking tool. My biggest complaints are its cost to upgrade and that you can't pick where you want to sync. You must use Google as your sync account. For the price charged, I should be able to use Dropbox if I want. If you don't upgrade you will be subjected to endless nagging by the developers. Bottom line, its a good program but the overall experience was not good due to the constant nagging and overpriced upgrade.
The budgeting has really helped me get in control of my finances. When I reconcile a transaction, it shouldn't shoot me to the bottom of the list, it's a pain to scroll back and find where I was again. Please fix this.. Any day now!!
Had a problem with the app. I emailed the same to the developers, no one cared to respond to any of my emails. I have send them a screenshot as well as the video of the bug. They still didn't get back to me. When you are taking money for your product, you are responsible to give your customers a properly working product. I did not pay lifetime price for a buggy app. Fix my issue.
As a money tracker, the application does a great job. But the multiple currency use is not really there yet. The app requires you to express all used currencies with the same number of decimal points. 2 is fine for the USD, but you really need 3 for BTC, and none for JPY. The app should know common currency notation. Likewise there is no clear way to see your accounts expressed in other currencies. e.g. How much in JPY do I currently have in USD or XAU? Also more cryptocurrencies like Ether and Dash, please EDIT - no response on crypto or multi-currency use after 6 months. Downgraded rating.
- Minor bugs and optimisation
Updating is highly recommended for stability and bug fixes.
