Bought two Go 4s. One connected fine. The other one won't connect. The normal Bluetooth pairing process doesn't work. I keep getting a popup on the lower half of my screen asking me to connect. It takes over a minute to connect, but then it's still not connected. It prompts me to download this app, which also can't find the speaker. The speaker is useless. Update: I deleted the first speaker hoping it would help, and now I can't connect to that one. So now both speakers are useless.

I downloaded this JBL app as a companion to a "JBL Grip" speaker I purchased recently and I'm not impressed. First, the app fails to connect to the speaker about 60% of the time, whether there's music playing or not. Second, the failure of the app to connect to the speaker confirms why I hate companion apps in the first place. They're not reliable. Third, I shouldn't be forced to download an app in order to access features that should've been built into the product in the first place.

The EQ has 3 levels not enough. It only works when you use 1 speaker. 2 or more EQ turns off. Adjusting gets one extreme to another. Either heavy bass or tinny highs. Every genre needs adjusted for clarity. At least there is an EQ if you use the app. Not quite as loud as you would like for the price amd size. If your in an apartment with thin walls you will be dropping the bass out. If your in a vehicle and crack a window cant hear it. W/o Eq it sounds flat. Butb better than most BT spkrs
