Works great I didn't think it would actually work when it came to making my screen darker, BUT IT DOES! My phone screen setting still have it pretty bright at night, even on the lowest one. This let's you choose how dark, it even goes so dark where you can barely see. What I like the most is that it confirms with you if you want it that dark or if it was a mistake and also let's you choose the dark percentage. Its Great!
Extremely Useful!!!! This app (and the widgets) are extremely useful. I have always felt that the minimum brightness on most android phones was too bright when in the dark. This app solves that. My only complaint is that the Developer made the percentage down to 0.1. Why? My OCD likes round numbers, and it's impossible to have the filters as whole numbers. I don't want to see 14.7 and 39.9, I want to see 15 and 40.
Simple Yet Effective Way to Dim Displays With Precise Controls All this app does is apply a black filter that darkens the display. This is perfect for AMOLED displays where the display drains more battery the brighter the display is. The app itself is lightweight, and allows precise percentage controls to control how dark the display will be, which is a big plus for me. The app does catch if you put the darkness level too low and will revert back in time, which is great since putting in too dark values can happen. It's simple, lightweight, and offers fine tuned controls. This is a must for devices that have displays that drain battery based on brightness.
Cool Could u please include a way to quickly remove the filter thru the persistent notification, please? Right now clicking the notification does both remove the screen filter AS WELL AS open the app settings - I would love for it to just remove the filter only.... just like the Screen Dimmer app does! So maybe u could include that as a setting for "what happens when you click the persistent notification?" Maybe? Otherwise this app does the best in dealing with the Nexus 5 on screen buttons imo.
Perfect tool Easy to use, great at night or in class. 4/5 for reason below- Beware: screen shots taken while screen filter is on will be taken of the object with the filter on them, so they do not look the same as they would if you took a normal screen shot with the brightness turned down. I first used this app with an S3 but now I use on my Stylo as well.
Why is this not an advance option under brightness? It is nice to have the simple ability to change the percentage of the default auto brightness. I hope in the future this application will have its own menu that is accessible via settings instead of being through the notification drop down, which should still be an option for those who like it this way. Maybe also after\when the setting menu is there, how about an option to completely hide the icon. Cause frankly I don't use the turn off\on quick button since it works so well. An imo androids have to many.
