A lot of posters don't seem to know how to distinguish between the previous app, their inadequate broadband speed, or both. HBO GO was a problem since HBO tried to roll its own backend. They got smart and contracted with MLB for Advanced Media. Blazing fast, no latency, as good a service as you'll find, and it works transparently with Chromecast. A superior service.
You have one job.... Both Android HBO app and Samsung Smart TV have exact issue. Constantly freezes and drops. No other steaming app had this problem. You have one job... It would be interesting to know how much money you have lost from people dropping it due to a glitchy, buggy, freezing, buffering, user experience.
Basic functionality lacking. Does not remember what your location in an episode. Does not keep track of where you are in a series, nor is there the ability to add a series to your watch list. You add episodes to your watch list. These are basics that were figured out by other steaming services many years ago.
I love it
Read your reviews HBO. They're not good are they. It is very glitchy and forget about Bluetooth. It won't even load. You're the most expensive service, yet your app leaves much to be desired. When I'm streaming through Comcast I have to search for a series then save episodes on my watchlist. What an inconvenience. Seriously considering canceling my subscription. Maybe you soul call Netflix I.T. guys!
Be careful when trying the free trial. I was charged the day before it was supposed to expire. It said I would be charged 20 Feb at X:00 EST, and it charged me on 19 Feb. I live in EST. Also, after I cancelled, and even got a verification that I would be refunded the money, they reactivated my subscription, and charged me again. It no longer shows any record that I cancelled. Something shady going on with this app on my end.
