First toilet finder app in which you:
- Filter 14,000 locations as needed
- Find all Eurokey locations in Germany
- You can create individual watch lists for your favorites
- Navigate precisely and receive current data thanks to user entries
Everyone can use the basic functions of our toilet finder free of charge. This includes, for example, a list of the next open toilets, which can be navigated to directly via Google Maps. If you want to view the locations on a map, filter by Euro key locations and create watch lists of your favorites, you need the Plus version.
Everyone has experienced it, especially in a foreign environment. The nearest suitable toilet is simply impossible to find or is in terrible condition. Whether on foot, in a wheelchair, on a bicycle or in a car, this situation causes stress. If you are one of the over 50% of chronically ill people in Germany or have to go to the nearest toilet promptly for another reason, it can be stressful.
During development, we placed particular emphasis on the most intuitive and barrier-free operation possible. We want as many people as possible to be able to use the toilet that is right for them, regardless of their digital skills or limitations. For example, all buttons that open a subpage or select a setting are in the same golden orange to make them easy to use.
Together, two affected people's associations (CBF Darmstadt e.V. and CHRONISCH GLÜCKLICH e.V.) and the health startup HealthCovery have developed the WC Finder app. Based on the symptoms of chronic inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis), the goal of no stress on the road was set as a benchmark. These illnesses include diarrhea, abdominal pain, general malaise and other limiting symptoms - often with an acute urge to go to the toilet. Confrontation with these complaints potentially recurs throughout your life - sustainable support is therefore needed to address this stress factor.
Finding the right “quiet spot” doesn’t just mean a direct increase in quality of life and everyday life with less anxiety for people with intestinal disease. As development progressed, it became clear that it wasn't just people with chronic inflammatory bowel disease (IBD for short) who were interested in such an offer. Whether on vacation, after a bike ride or in everyday life - people with and without disabilities can experience real added value. No stress on the go!
The basis offers a book directory with origins from the 80s. The so-called Locus book, as a directory for disabled toilets with the uniform Eurokey locking system, is becoming digital. The result: The first WC Finder app that contains all Euro key locations. With 14,000 locations in Germany, thanks to the app, a suitable toilet is now always available and offers safe navigation. It is now also possible to save favorites in your own watch lists. Thanks to user entries and reviews, this app means less stress on the go!
