I used to own heartmath and used it with my laptop. I also had the mobile device. So I was looking for it as an app. I have a Samsung S7 edge. It has a built in pulse reader that works great.....but not with this app. I have no idea why they wouldn't use the S7 pulse reader and insist you buy an external pulse reader. ....which is way overpriced. It's too bad. I would be happy to pay for this app if it worked with my phones pulse reader. Heartmath technology has been around for at least 20 years. It's something that the world needs and it should be affordable.
Great app, bought the sensor to go with it, worth it. I recommend that you find out how Gregg Braden (author) recommends to use it. I read here that people's session end as soon as they start. IMPORTANT: you must NOT pair your phone blue tooth to the device. The app does it for you. Once I figured that out it worked for me. Their instructions should say that, but it doesn't... Heartmath, if you fix that instruction breakdown (should come with the sensor instructions) then some of the lower stars here would be higher :) App crashes when in progress screen when I move up or down....
It didn't work for me right away. But within days I had a detailed description on how to set it up, it was easy. And then they followed up with a phone call to make sure I was satisfied :) Great company
Changing my rating from 2 to 4 stars. HeartMath replaced my sensor when it stopped working after only a week. I thought about requesting a refund but I'm glad I didn't. The sensor has been working just fine for the past 2 months but the software is still a little buggy. Bluetooth sharing force closes when I try to pair connect the sensor through the app, then it says a sensor can't be found. I press connect again and then it connects just fine so it usually takes about a minute to connect to the app. The sensor doesn't look durable so I carry it in a small metal case to keep it intact. Overall I believe it's a good product but it just needs some improvements.
Fundamentally poor, in its profoundly un-userfriendly nature, and its closed, censored UI that prevents establishment of baseline patterns + worthwhile exploration into day to day progress. No detailed graph available post-session
I'm slightly dubious of the technology. I notice I get a high score merely for breathing along with pacer. Then, if I'm completely 'in my heart'/feeling coherent, but not breathing at the suggested pace, my score is terrible. I'm not the device it's measuring anything but the pace of my breath. Quite disappointed!
