Description

New Zealand Sign Language Dictionary contains diagrams and videos for over 4,000 English words and phrases.

A "Word of the Day" feature introduces you to a new vocabulary word every day.

All the diagrams are built in to the application so they can be viewed offline. To view the videos, an active Internet connection is required.

It's ok but would be good if you had a list of words to look up. Seems to be nothing to download for learning baby signs, there are for other countries but not NZ. Sad really we have a deaf grand baby and want to learn for her. Apps good but hard to navigate

Video feature not working The video feature has stopped working :( have tried uninstalling and reinstalling but no luck. Have also cleared all cached data etc. Loved the app when it worked but it's on the fritz and needs fixing

Great app! Cool you can search in English and Māori. Would really like a 'random' button, ie allows you to search for a random word to learn, like word of the day but another one! =) keep up the good work!

I love this app. Has worked great in the classroom. It would be great to add a feature that allows you to build a bank of words to view later. Some phrases and basic alphabet would also be a great addition.

Very useful I can't think of any better way to learn signs on your own than this. On it's own it is good, If you have data for the videos then it is great.

Just what I needed We are learning sign language as a whanau because our youngest child is non verbal. This app is a life changer, thank you so much for creating it! I love the video feature as it means when we need to use a new word we can quickly learn it and use it straight away.

I recently decided to start learning sign language with a friend, and this app is so helpful. I find that the video feature helps me understand the signs much better. Awesome app!

Wow. But needs to promptly abort attempt to play video while off line, as it hangs for ages before advising 'cannot play this video'. Works well online though.

A great app Amazing that such a great app could be free. Just needs definitions for the symbols used to show hand movement.

Version 2.0 fixes the video display problem on newer Android devices. The symbols used in the diagrams are pictorial representations and don't really have definitions themselves. The latest version also shows handshape information for each sign, which may help clarify the diagrams. Thanks for your feedback!

I use it daily Great to remind me of signs I have forgotten or learn new ones. Great for the kids to check their own knowledge. The search is pretty foolproof too.
