About this app

New Zealand Sign Language Dictionary contains 4500+ multimedia, multilingual dictionary entries.

A "Word of the Day" feature introduces you to a new vocabulary word every day.

All the diagrams are built in to the application so they can be viewed offline. To view the videos, an active Internet connection is required.

Please note that this app is not actively maintained. We still welcome your feedback while we are investigating redevelopment opportunities. In the meantime, we continue to regularly release dictionary updates on our website at https://nzsl.nz.

Awesome app that is a fantastic resource for all in Aotearoa, from beginners to experts, I can't recommend it highly enough. A fun language to learn. Can look up signs by the english word or by hand shape and body position, which is super helpful! The videos of the signs make it incredibly easy to engage with and learn the non-manual signals (grammar) as well, which is shown on the face. Huge fan of the Sign of the Day on the home page to slowly but steadily improve sign vocab capabilities.

Dear Developer... So far so good. However, I wish there was a way that I can put my saved/stared words into folders/groups. (ie) I'd like to put the colours into a colours folder, the numbers into a number folder and same with farm animals etc. I'd would definitely rate this app a 5ā˜† if you develop that feature. Pls & Ty. Why: Cause it would come in handy when teaching my baby but also for my self. (Scrolling through saved words when scrambled makes it hard & with baby's we have limited focus.

It's an amazing app and concept overall, but every time I press on the star to find all the signs I've added as my favourites, it crashes. It would be so handy for that option to work as I want to be able to quickly access the favourite signs for my toddler who is needing to learn NZSL.
