Main critique is the free demo portion works up to Laguna. The problem is there is no reception for phone or WiFi ANYWHERE in that town to purchase the full app so you are stranded for about 30 miles until Scissors Crossing. Recommend the demo work up to Scissors Crossing where most people can get reception and/or pop into Julian and get the full version. The app is great with reviewing the upcoming sections of trail. Elevation graphs, water, campsites big and small. It is one of the three big digital resources I juggle with for the PCT. Absolutely worth the price for a 5 month endeavor.
I keep trying to download the offline maps for the super pct package but it keeps saying connection to server lost. I've tried redownloading the app and just won't work..not sure what's happening. The one that did download works pretty good though.
What most people say. Very accurate. Basically all you need to do the dang thing. Makes it almost too easy frankly. ;)
Outstanding for the PCT. Not exhaustive, but much more information (including pictures of key points) than other maps/guides, with the ability for other users to leave comments, e.g. regarding business hours/hiker friendliness/presence or absence of water. Download maps/photos BEFORE hiking.
Great app for the PCT! Use it almost exclusively! This and the PCT data book are alll you really need to thru hike!it has been an invaluable resource!
Great up to date info on water sources, trail closures, tent sites, town info etc. Works without data and gps works 100% in the first 260 miles. After that... I'm about to find out.
