Needs To Sync With Desktop Client The experience is mostly great but the notifications need to sync with the desktop client. If I view the message there, the notification in my Android notifications bar should go away.
Mobile version is a tragedy I had to use hipchat for work in my last two jobs. When I worked for a small startup it was manageable, but in a bigger company the app is basically unusable. It would randomly go into "loading" mode for minutes, never completing the load and forcing me to restart the app. This happens about 50% of the time when you switch away from the app and come back. Other times, you send a message and it fails to send, leaving you with the option to retry. Later you find out that you actually sent the same message 3
App is OK, sufficient but really needs to support multiple accounts for a lot of modern organisations. It's done in the Mac app so why not on mobile too?!
Awful performance Can barely load conversations or send messages. Notifications are always messed up. This app is terrible
Intermittent notifications New app update mostly fixed notification issues, but it seems the app just dies on itself from time to time, requiring a restart of the app in order to send and receive notifications. Still, an improvement from previous versions.
Never stays connected (so I receive no notifications which defeats the entire point of a chat program), and when it does stay connected it devours my battery. Also it won't function at all with anything less than perfect cell service or WiFi.
* Fixed: When creating a room, the loading indicator would sometimes go away before the room was actually created.
* Fixed: The room topic would show up as a message for some rooms when you first launched HipChat even though the room topic didn't actually change.
* Fixed: Our drawer didn't draw under the status bar the way the material design guidelines suggest.
