Worst Android app I've ever seen I've been a hipchat user for 5 years, and this app gets worse with every version. It crashes constantly on certain types of messages (from jira integrations) the performance is terrible (on my brand new moto X pure it takes 40 seconds to bring up the keyboard after selecting text entry) and it "forgets" the state of the channel you're in whenever you switch apps, causing it to have to reload. Atlassian must have bought stock in slack. The version of hipchat for Android I used in 2012 was way better.
Getting better slowly Great app that does work but needs help still with notifications. Main thing I really need is for when I open the app something that tells me how many new messages there are and in what rooms and opens that room at the first unread message. That's the main thing I miss from when we moved from Slack to your platform. Keep up the good work.
Nice Good however the entrance easing function should be ease out for opening a chat and ease in for exiting one.
Not log in Pls say...how to i open this app
I'm running a sales team and was planning on using this app as a group chat that members could access on their handheld devices. I really liked the desktop client, the interface, and the functions offered by HipChat. However, the one thing that disappointed me greatly is the fact that despite selecting the option to stay connected (at the sacrifice of your battery), the handhelds do not stay connected to the client at all. If I were to wait 15 minutes or so and message from the desktop, none of the handhelds received any notification that there was a message received. I have to manually open the app on each handheld and I get a message at the bottom saying "Connnecting. . .", then it takes another 10 seconds or so to refresh the group chat. That issue defeated the whole purpose of using this app. Assuming it was a mobile network speed issue, I waited another 30 minutes or so for a notification to pop up on the handheld while sending another messaging using another app--other app showed notification, HipChat still didn't. Sad, really.
