About this app

The PPFD Meter uses the phone's built-in ambient light sensor (ALS) to collect information on each photon that hits the plant canopy.

You can also use a Bluetooth sensor. We support seamless integration with UNI-T UT383 BT over Bluetooth Low Energy.

If this sounds overwhelming, don't worry! We have prepared for your onboarding. You will find lots of useful information inside our guides. So, you can get the best out of PPFD Meter.

The only PAR Meter you need is to adjust your lights optimally.

Good to know that UNI-T performs superior to the most built-in sensors we have tested. We are not partners with UNI-T. It's just one of the best LUX meters with Bluetooth LE connection having a price tag lower than 20 bucks. Hard to beat that for a low-cost solution.

No matter which sensor is used during the measurements, PPFD Meter converts LUX readings from the sensor into PAR and calculates PPFD and DLI simultaneously in a sleek UI. You can customize the animations inside the displays for your needs.

You can also record all your measurements and view them on a time graph later. This is continent when you try to find out MIN/MAX values over an area.

We have also released the PAR Map feature where you can create your PAR Maps for your own grow area! When you are done taking the measurements. We will prepare a beautiful Screenshot for you! They are perfect to reference later when you adjust your lights.

If you want to try the PAR Map, you can set random values. This is built for you. So, you will know what it will look like after your journey.

I've tried many apps for Android. All have the basic failure of glare making them unuseable without trying to hold steady while taking screenshots to later read. The optional sensor that removes ALS limiting software is a godsend. Not only do you get true readings, they are easily viewed remotely, making it is much easier to map. Speaking of maps. I'm excited to try the mapping feature. I manually built a map a couple years ago, I expect the new features to make it a breeze.

It's definitely useful, I can't say 100% how accurate it is but it's close. I use it to dial in intensity and height and it's made a difference. What you think looks right and what actually is can be a big difference so with this it takes a big amount of guesswork away and those extra saved days could be used at peak performance instead of making incremental changes and wait for results..

I dont believe the readings are right. I also have photone app. If you set your phone down and check the reading you get a lower reading. But if you move your phone towards the light and back to the same spot the reading is alot higher. Or if you open the app in the dark then put it under the light you get another low reading. Readings are not accurate. I'm on a Samsung Note 20 so I have the new cameras.
