The HP iLO Mobile application provides access to the remote console of your HP ProLiant server from your Android device. The mobile app interacts directly with the iLO processor on HP ProLiant servers, providing total control of the server at all times as long as the server is plugged in. For example, you can access the server when it is in a healthy state, or when it is powered off with a blank hard drive. As an IT administrator, you can troubleshoot problems and perform software deployments from almost anywhere.

The HP iLO Mobile app allows you to perform the following tasks:
- Operate the server power switch.
- Use the Remote Console to interact with the operating system, including BIOS and ROM configuration changes.
- Mount an ISO CD/DVD image. The disk image is available on the server as a USB CD/DVD drive. You can boot from the disk image and deploy an operating system.
- Launch HP iLO scripts and monitor their progress.
- Access the HP iLO web interface.
- Store the list of servers you want to manage.

Limitations:
- HP ProLiant servers with HP iLO 3 or later are supported.
- You must have network access to the iLOs you want to manage.
- You can connect through a firewall using a VPN or you can open/forward the following ports:
HTTP: Port 80
HTTPS: Port 443
Remote Console: Port 17990

- The following features require an HP iLO Advanced license on the server:
iLO Virtual Media
Remote Console is included on ProLiant Blade servers. A license is required on all other servers.
Scripting is available on all servers, but a license is required for the scripting of certain features such as iLO Virtual Media.

- The HP iLO Mobile app can consume significant network bandwidth. When using the cellular network, monitor your data use if you do not have an unlimited data plan. Consider using Wi-Fi when possible.

- Does not currently support physical or third party keyboards.

- Does not support iLO 2 systems.

Tips:
- When viewing remote console, pinch to zoom, press to click and drag, and long-press for right-click.
- Tap the CD icon to mount/unmount a virtual media URL
- Tap the power icon to power on/off/reset the host server
- Tap the health icon to show the iLO web UI.

Tested with Samsung Galaxy SII, Galaxy Tab, Motorola Xoom, and HTC Droid Incredible.

Would be a great idea if it worked Fired up the ilo and attempted to get to the remote console, only to have it error every time. I've submitted the error. It's a RuntimeException because it can't start the activity due to a NullPointerException bubbled up from com.hp.essn.iss.ilo.iec.spa.SPAKeyboard.Init. Fix the error and I'll try again.

Good idea, bad implementation What is that awful keyboard? Iy's such a pain to type a real password. The mouse implementation is bad as well. Useless on a phone. Take 5 random rdp apps and you'll see how a mouse is supposed to work on a touch device. So, the remote console is pretty useless. And the iLO web page can be accessed the same in a web browser. Take a look at Synology mobile apps to see a job well done.

Poor usability on tablet Besides being difficult to use on a tablet (due to key size) the wonky integrated keyboard won't let me enter numbers, only symbols. Android already has great built in keyboard functionality - why did HP reinvent the wheel here?

How is the keyboard meant to be usable? On LG G3 and the keyboard in this app is rubbish. Can't actually see any of the letters as the keyboard is all squished. Why even go to the effort of developing a keyboard in the app when all android phones have keyboards built into their OSes?!? Great idea, and great on Windows, but this android version is useless.

The Keyboard is a nightmare! Why, oh why did they have to replace the great Android keyboard functionality with that ... that steaming pile of random keys? It effectively makes the remote console read only. Terrible design, horrible implementation.

App crashes on launching remote console The app crashes every time I try to launch the remote console. Which is really the only reason I installed the app in the first place. If I wanted to access the Web interface I'd do it through the native browser.

Good app, but please fix the keyboard :) There are no symbols on the virtual keyboard's keys whatsoever. Yeah, of course I can blind-type, but that's rather inconvenient, with the keys being THAT small. I guess it has something to do with the resolution of my device's screen, please look into this issue :)

Used to work It seems as of iLO 2.42 the web interface does not play well with Android's web view. The web GUI is missing the menu on the left. Same issue is observed on desktop with any browser other than IE/Edge. This renders the app useless besides the script and Rem console options. Low rating is to try and capture someone's attention.

Keyboard unusable keys dont show up clearly enough to be usable and usb keyboard (which works everywhere else in Android) doesn't work at all. This is both on HTC One M7 and Moto X Play. Just read reviews and it seems I'm not the only one. Also last update was 2013, HP obviously have no interest in updating this app. Come on HP sort yourselves out.

Unusable Keyboard The keyboard is apparently baked into the app and can't be switched. The buttons are so small they don't have labels. Totally unusable. (LG G4)

Still More Work Needed Thus will be a good idea once it is a true phone app and not a Web page in a phone app. Left side bar covers about 2/3rd's of the display. Can only scroll right side of screen so difficult to see the overview. Remote console is what I would expect - need to zoom in to see. But having to use 2 fingers to do anything is clunky. And I have to agree with another comment - what is up with that keyboard.

Works perfect using local network, can access the iLO web interface over mobile data, but the remote console says ""There was an error estabilishing a control connection with the iLO." after it almost finishes loading it up saying "Starting video stream..." Ports forwarded properly etc, that's the only thing that just doesn't seem to work.

Keyboard is non-standard The keyboard used by this ilo tool is not the standard android keyboard. This means all the keys are in the wrong places and bluetooth keyboards don't work. Don't count on this tool. Keep your laptop handy.

Works but barely The interface is quite dated and lacks basic features. The keyboard that pops up is completely blank and there are no options to switch keyboards to something that would actually work. Unable to actually do anything do to the bad keyboard design.

Absolutely useless A company of HP's resources should be able to come up with a better app than this utter waste of space. Tiny, impossible to use controls and UI, persistent force closing and 10 years out of date design. Uninstalled.

Nice try folks... You can do better than that, you're HP not a small start-up with no funds! App crashes on a specific host, web interface from within the app unusable, and the list goes on, give us some credit and develop the damn tool, it's almost 2017 guys, wake up!

Flaky Google Nexus device compatibility Works ok on Nexus 5 mobile phone but always crashes when starting video stream (Remote Console) on Nexus 7 tablet.

You can't do anything You can launch the web interface like you can in a web browser. That's pretty much it. Good job it's free but you get what you pay for I guess. Shame.

In keeping with HP's image, this is slapdash, poorly laid out, and barely functional. Can you use it to manage a system via iLO? Yes... but barely. Why HP figured using a keyboard outside of the system default was a good idea is beyond me. I assume it's just like all of HP's other choices in which they decide that their own methods are better than the tested and proven methods used elsewhere. Unless I find myself in a desperate situation and needing console access to a blade in a C7000 in a remote DC and all I have is my Android.... I won't be using this app.

No C7000/BL460G6 support? This app is a great idea, but omitting iLO2 support means it's useless on my $148k blade chassis... C'mon HP... Why do you tease us like this?

Unfortunately, iLO 2 is not supported. The iLO 2 firmware is at capacity and is only accepting fixes for critical security issues. Remote console features/protocol changed significantly in iLO 3.

Great for remote power + viewing Excellent app for remotely power cycling a ProLiant via iLO, but unfortunately the soft keyboard is hopelessly pathetic, making it only useful for viewing startup to login and then you're unable to enter most complex passwords.

call it ILO3 not just ILO wy not make a app for the ILO2 also. there are so many poeple that got the HP with ILO2 and they are all end off life now if you dont support them in a app... ILO3 app and ILO2 app or a app that supports both. if thats the case then i would give this app 5 stars

Want to use it but can't login...please fix I want to use this but the keyboard makes it unusable. Most of the keys are blank and its too small too, so I can't even tell what to press to login. Please fix asap?

Poor quality application It crashes on attempt to enter console. In ILO webinterface it hides left-side menu making it absolutely useless.

Doesn't work Yes the ilo web interface works but I can do that with Chrome anyway, remote console crashes the app.
