Take pictures of things you see in the ocean and share these with experts to support research and collaboration to heal the ocean.

The Citizen Sea application allows anyone, anywhere on the ocean or shoreline, to take a picture using their phone or upload a picture from their camera roll. By choosing from a list of categories, you can label and upload your pictures of the ocean along with their category, date, time and location of where they were taken and share them with HUB Ocean. HUB Ocean will then store it in their Ocean Data Platform and share it with the experts.

HUB Ocean is a non-profit foundation that provides a platform, solutions and tools to access, visualize and analyze ocean data from diverse sources. They work with partners from science, tech and governments to create impact and drive sustainable ocean management worldwide.

What’s new

- Fixed crashes that could occur during data upload and when showing in-app messages.
- Fixed a navigation issue and a layout overflow at the bottom of the page.
- The re-upload button is now disabled when there's nothing pending to upload.
