Review from Darren Weiss
No HDMI Output, Limits what you can watch Amazingly, Hulu has decided to ban users from projecting videos via HDMI. This is absurd, given that many other devices (Roku, game consoles, etc.) permit users to watch videos on their televisions. Moreover, Hulu prevents you from watching certain shows via phone or tablet-- astounding given that this is a pay per view service. If Hulu won't give consumers what they want, consumers will go elsewhere, to the detriment of Hulu's advertising dollars. Shame on you Hulu.
You guys have to learn how to make a better app! You guys want a tip? . This app neither in tablet, nor roku or apple tv or samsung tv appear to have a bookmark where you left the progress of a show. For example I'm watching "hoarders" in the kitchen and around minute 11 I decide to go upstairs and keep watching the show in other room is only possible for one show to keep watching but the app doesn't keep the bookmarks of all the shows I didn't finish. Learn from the Netflix app on how to make video bookmarks.
Ads are too long The commercials are between 75 and 90 seconds long and if the play commercials at least 3x during the program. Also once a week it freezes. Secondly they only show the first five episodes of the shows i really like such as Flash and Arrow. I much prefer Netflix. But i stay with hulu because i like a little bit of variety. With the two and crackle, i get enough variety. Better than paying 80 dollars for cable
Worth getting without question I really appreciate the customer care. They always resolve any issues I have without any troubles at all. I forgot I signed up for Hulu and had accidentally signed up again with my wife's email so I was paying for Hulu 2x for 6 months before realizing it so I called to simply cancel one of them and the noticed I didn't sign into the one account and took the 6 months I paid twice and gave me a free six month credit on my wife's account. I didn't ask them they just did it. I'd give 10 stars if I could.
Insane amount of ads I understand there being an ad or two per episode. But I've gotten up to nine 30 second ads in a single 30min episode. Not an over exaggeration. You'll have to subscribe to the ad free version to get any enjoyment from Hulu. Because the "limited commercial" version is BS. I'm canceling and not giving it another chance.
Absolutely love it! This is the app I use the most, always! Only thing I would ever change is I'd like to be able to watch on more than one device at a time. Five people in our home and we all love Hulu Plus, it would just be nice if kids could watch on one device, while we watch on another. Health issues put me on bed rest frequently, Hulu is my number one go to! It's a life saver!
People who are complaining Hulu is great to keep up with current TV shows. It's not so great when it comes to binge watching. But this is mainly for the people who are complaining about the ads. STOP COMPLAINING AND PAY THE EXTRA BUCKS TO BECOME AD FREE. It's around 11 bucks a month! Get a grip.
