The SOS QR app will help you be prepared and stay safe during an emergency, either at home or when traveling around the world, with: a one-touch SOS and OK buttons that alert your emergency contacts with your GPS location, an easy to create emergency record attached to a personal QR code that lets emergency responders quickly view your critical health information in their own language.
The app allows you to easily create emergency records for each profile you create, with easy entry of emergency medical and contact information, in two versions: (1) a private one accessed from the SOS QR app itself, for you to edit or share the record in person (for example, in an emergency room), and which has all the detailed record’s information available; and (2) a public, de-identified online version published to the secure Humetrix SOS QR server so that it is available to emergency responders who scan the record’s QR code when you are incapacitated. By default, the public version is de-identified so that information which could identify you – such as Last Name or Date of Birth – do not appear in the record. You can at any time unmask any of these fields by tapping on the red-shield icon so that they appear in the public version of the record.
Emergency records include different categories-of-information: Personal Details, Spoken Languages, Emergency Contacts, Authorized Representative, Primary Physician, Insurance Details, Allergies, Immunizations, Medical Conditions, Medications, Other Health Info, Implanted Devices, and Special Needs. Tap any of these category buttons to enter pertinent information for your emergency record, leaving blank any category not relevant to you. You should include any vital information in an emergency situation like a life-threatening allergy so that emergency medical personnel will know about it. Also, it is very important to fill out the Emergency Contacts section with the name and contact information of the person(s) you want to be directly alerted in case of an emergency. You can add as many emergency contacts as you like for a given Profile.
MEDICAL CONDITION QUALITY OF CARE GUIDELINE NOTIFICATIONS
As you enter a common chronic medical condition (e.g., asthma or hypertension), the app will automatically let you know of the recommended quality-of-care guideline for this condition, so that you know about the standard of care for this particular condition, and can discuss it with your physician.
A wallet card that includes your QR code, retrieval PIN code, and your profile photo can be printed from within the application if you have a WIFI networked printer.
QR CODE SCANNING FOR EMERGENCY RECORD ACCESS
In an emergency situation, emergency personnel can scan your QR code with any widely available QR code scanner and quickly see your pertinent health information. In addition, when the QR code is scanned, SOS QR automatically generates Email Auto-Alerts to your listed contacts, with a map with the location of the emergency.
AUTOMATED RECORD TRANSLATION FOR USE ON TRAVEL
When your QR code is access while on travel, SOS QR provides for an automatic translation of your record (including medical conditions and medications) so that emergency responders will immediately view your records in their own language. Languages supported by SOS QR include at this time: English US and English UK, French, Spanish, Portuguese, and Mandarin Chinese.
