Used to be able to run in local mode from phone app to test individual stations whilst making adjustments to popup sprinklers etc as it can take up to 5 minutes to activate a station in cloud mode. Stalls at page where IP address & local password is required. HC012. USED to work. What has changed? S/w version 1.89.
I am constantly traveling around the world and always able to monitor my 18 stations in the orchard at home. Most of the time everything runs smoothly. Sometimes the deer break valves and pop-ups; I can easily turn off or adjust watering schedules to keep from wasting water till I can get home and fix it.
I am a licensed landscape contractor. I have setup every one of these smart controllers on the market today. I was excited to hear Hunter had a smart timer on the market. I grabbed one for my own home. I guess the timer is fine. The app is soooo clunky. EVERY other smart timer app on the market is easier to use. Even the orbit B-hyve app is far superior. What a shame Hunter is a industry standard. While orbit is considered cheap junk.
The product is great but it's let down by a horribly complicated app that even seasoned experts can't figure out. Shouldn't I just be able to tell it what I'm watering & then it uses the weatherstations to make adjustments? Oh & why doesn't it show total rainfall so far this week on the dashboard? Wifi & remote app control works flawlessly, only let down is the app UI. Please improve UX.
Simple connection, intuitive app. Complete access and control of your irrigation system from anywhere. If you have questions, tech support does an excellent job of getting you going. Had the system for a few months and it has been totally reliable. I understand contractor fees but I wish homeowners had access to more features without annual fees, I mean we did buy the $200 controller.
