I have been using this app for approximately 5 months. The ability to change pitch and tone of the voice has been very helpful. I have used this to increase my reading substantially over that time. I did pay for the extra features largely to remove advertising. But it was very useful even before getting the full price edition.

The built-in OCR is actually really solid to read files that are not already a form of text document (PDF or Doc). Plus, you can save the OCR as a text file once the image has been converted to text! So, I just scanned a lengthy college textbook to read on here. It's worth the ten dollars for the full version to get rid of the ads, honestly. Can't recommend highly enough

This was an excellent app for me. The problem I have is that every 30mins to an hour when I'm listening to my books it stops. The solution is to reset my phone but thats a temporary fix. I use this app alot when working or other things and this is currently the only app that works the way I like and has good tts voices. The issue is it's not crashing, but buffering for protracted periods of time it will continue for a short time then stop again. The buffering time is far to long in comparison.

Your phone is stopping apps working in background or with screen off to "save battery". Or maybe from your description - it is slowing down the main processor for the same reason. Examine all the battery options in system settings to prevent this. Email me directly if more help is needed, as each phone type and Android ver. have different settings.
