About this app

Hytch rewards you with real cash for verified shared rides.
Every mile you travel together earns more — it’s that simple.

How It Works
1. Tap “Let’s Hytch”: Open the app and enable location access.
2. Invite Your Crew. Add friends, coworkers, or family who ride with you.
3. Start Your Trip. Hytch automatically verifies that you’re traveling together.
4. Earn Cash. Each verified mile earns sponsor-funded rewards.
5. Cash Out. Redeem your balance directly in the app.

Why It Pays to Share
• Verified carpool trips earn higher rewards than solo drives.
• The more you ride together, the more you make.
• Every trip helps reduce congestion and emissions in your community.

Turn every shared commute into cash with Hytch — the app that makes positive commuting behaviors pay. Hytch tracks your route in the background while a ride is active, shown by an ongoing notification, so your shared miles are recorded and rewarded even when your screen is off.

I love the concept. The first couple times it worked great, then they updated the app. Now it drops constantly, ends the ride, says Bluetooth is disconnected when it isn't, and shouldn't have anything to do with the app. My fellow Hytch riders are having the same issues. We ride the train to/from work so we're daily users. I'm ready to give up on it.

I'm all for the idea but I agree with other users that for it to work for me, I need to be able to network with strangers. I'd personally be willing to let Hytch do a background check to keep things safe. It would be helpful to be able to rate/report both drivers and passenger, again for safety. I'd love to be able to open Hytch, type in a beginning and ending location and see nearby travelers (whether drivers or passengers) planning to head the same direction at roughly the same time. Thanx!!

We appreciate feedback. Hytch employer partners reward you, your friends, neighbors and co-workers for a smarter commute: carpooling, vanpool or public transportation, etc. We don't do stranger matching, background checks or ratings because you've make that decision -- no need to rate your friends. Our employer program helps you network safely.

This app is wonderful! It is a free and easy way to offset my emissions from driving. I drive happier knowing that I'm helping plant trees. The carpooling aspect is even better because Hytch plants trees for everyone in the ride. Now, every carpool I take with Hytch counts double towards combating climate change!

Hey Charlie! You truly are a #HytchHero and everybody here at Hytch is excited to see our work and our mission get appreciated. We all share this planet and why not share cars to help save it. Plant that forest!!!

What’s new

Updated for Android 16. Fixed an issue that could end a ride early when the app was in the background, and corrected links to our terms and privacy policy.
