Text Later is the simple solution to sending SMS messages at a later date. Need to send a reminder about a meeting? Or maybe you are a little forgetful about sending out Happy Birthday messages to friends and family. Text Later allows you to send out SMS messages to contacts, at any date or time of your choosing. Make sure you have a texting plan through your carrier, as Text Later sends standard SMS messages and you are responsible for any charges from your carrier regarding the sending of SMS messages.

The latest update refreshes the UI to better conform to updated Android standards. Now it's even simpler to schedule text messages!

By default you can send messages based on a 15 minute interval, however if you prefer a different spacing you can change it in the settings menu.

In Android KitKat and above, dent messages will be logged to your default messages app. That way you'll never forget what you said.

If you find issues please email me, don't put them in the comments. I cannot respond to comments, but I will fix issues that come to me via email. :)

Some comments have claimed this will send spam messages. THE APP WILL NOT SEND SUCH MESSAGES. If you are getting that it is from some other app. That type of behavior is against Google play policy, and I do not engage in that sort of thing. The only messages that will be sent are ones that you schedule.

This is a free app, I make no warranties regarding it.

PERMISSION EXPLANATION
- READ CONTACTS: This is used purely so you can choose from your existing contacts when sending a message.
- SEND SMS: This is obviously required to send out SMS Messages.
- START AT BOOT: This is so the application can continue to send messages that have previously been scheduled for after your phone restarts.
- INTERNET: This is a free ad-supported application. Internet access is used *ONLY* for ads.

NEW v 1.4
- WAKE LOCK (Prevent device from sleeping): This ensures that messages go out at the time that they are scheduled, and not delayed if the device happens to be in a CPU idle sleep.
- WRITE SMS: This is for the new experimental feature to log the SMS messages to your default SMS app.
- READ SMS: This is required and used ONLY for the new experimental feature so that SMS messages can be added to your regular SMS app.

- READ_PHONE_STATE: Required by LG to solve some force-close issues.

Overall good app Ive used this a couple times and find it a useful. Issues:once I have my msg written, date selected, and hit SET, there's no flash of confirmation that ive done it correctly. When I pick ”pending Msgs" it doesn't show any, so I never know if ive entered everything in correctly or not, I just have to wait and see. Also the big SEND MESSAGE button near the top of the compose page is intuitively what I want to select before seeing the SET button, but I believe that would make the msg send now, right?

One of the most useful apps I have. This is probably the most useful app I have. Think of a question you absolutely need to remember to ask someone tomorrow, but it's too late tonight? Schedule it. Need to let your boss know that you're going to be out "sick?" Schedule it. Have to take away one star because every time I try to open a scheduled message for review, the app crashes.

Doesn't send messages that are close in time to one another. Everytime I've set up multiple text messages it either didn't text the first one but did the second or vice versa, example I just tried to text someone this morning at 7:45 am and again at 8:15 am for the same day. The 7:45 am one went threw like normal but the other one for 8:15 did not send. When I went into the app it just said pending like when you originally set it up. I rarely send multiple texts at close times but it is still an issue non the less. If this gets fixed it would be a 5 star app.

Awesome little app I love this app. I can write a text in the middle of the night if I wake up thinking about something and then set the time I want it to go out to the person, at a more reasonable hour, and Text Later will do the rest. Then I'm able to clear that thought out of my head and I don't have to worry about it. I can even edit the text before it goes out if I wake up and change mind my as to what I wanted to say.

Too many bugs I hate to date something low because I work customer service and I know what a big deal these stars are but the app does work right. It doesn't send when it should and when I check on the past messages it sends the multiple times like I'm spamming people. I makes me look unprofessional

In-Yo'-Face Add and HELLO 2016¡ Saying this app contains ads is a bit of an understatement. Oh and by the way I checked my calendar and it's been 2016 now for 10 months! Personally I would recommend "send it later" over this app. More functional, less ads

Perfect This app sends text messages later. Extremely easy to schedule when they get sent. Shows scheduled messages. Once scheduled message is sent, it shows up in native text messaging app as part of original conversation. It may sound basic, but the fact that there are never any errors is wonderful. This app does exactly what I want it to, when I want it, how I want it. Excellent app!

Piece of crap Unreliable. Scheduled a message for early in the morning. The phone was on all night long in a place with network range. Checked to see if the msg was sent and it wasn't. It was sent the exact moment I checked the app. My old Samsung Galaxy had a built-in scheduled msg feature. Too bad Android Lollipop doesn't have it integrated by default. This way I wouldn't have relied on a 3rd party crap app.

Awesome app! Works fantastic on my note 4. I don't usually need to schedule many texts but when I do I absolutely love using this text later app. When I know I need to tell someone something but they're either sleeping or at work, instead of chancing on forgetting I schedule a text for when I know it won't interrupt them. Beautiful...:)

Used to work great bit not since update!!! This app used to work like a charm for me most of the time but then it recently updated and has gone to hell! If I accidentally close the app it doesn't send he messages I set up to send when it used to without the app needing to be running in the background... And now it's sending the same thing A BILLION TIMES. I literally just accidentally sent my boyfriend The same exact messages from a few days ago AGAIN... Days after the fact and like 3 more times after accidentally opening the app. Please fix ASAP!!!

WTH? This used to be a great application. First off let me say I haven't upgraded my system in months and it has worked well before. I scheduled a message at 7:15 in the morning to send my boss. When I looked to see if it had been sent around 7:30, it had not and then the application proceeded to send him 5 copies of the same message. Needless to say, that made me look bad. Uninstalled from my Verizon Galaxy Note 3.

Cool concept, but it failed to work. In my first attempt, I scheduled a message to send at 10 am. It did not send the message at that time, instead the message was sent when I checked a text message from the recipient- 2 hours later. The app also needs a history so I could have compared the time scheduled versus the time sent.

Terrible, Terrible flaw!!! If you edit a text after scheduling it, it will send it immediately upon finishing your edit!!! ANY editing of your already scheduled text message defaults that message to the current time. You have to make sure that with each edit, you reschedule the time back to the time you originally saved. TERRIBLE FLAW, EASY TO CORRECT.

Good app. Reliable, simple. I wish that you could pay a purchase price to stop the ads. Also, on the settings screen the font size for "AM/PM" and day of the week is very small and hard to read. But a good app overall which seems robust and reliable. Nice.

Great app! Not only do I use this for texting other people, I text myself in order to remember things! Only thing I'm not crazy about us if you send it to a group it shows up in their inbox as a text going only to them instead of a group.

This app solves problems PRO's: it does what it professes.... User friendly....easy... Set it and its ok if I forget it.....its free... Don't wake up mother in law in the middle of the night when requesting she babysit...I can set reminders for my husband that will get to him at just the right times CON's: it once sent a text multiple times for reasons I don't understand. ...No recurring OPTION . UPDATE... It keeps sending messages late...About, but not exactly 8 hours late. Can't see how I did it.

I like it EDIT It just sent out a message that it was supposed to send 2 months ago! Had to explain to the recipient. Thank goodness it wasn't work related. Haven't had any problems with it. Always works perfectly. I use it a couple of times a week.

Garbage I scheduled a bday text to go out back in aug. It was sent just now when my phone died and turned back on. So not only did I not greet this person happy bday, I also inadvertently sent it weeks later. How embarrassing.

It does all I need it to do This gives me the ability to send a message when I need to send it but it's a bad time for the other person to receive it (if their phone will make a sound when they receive it, which you usually don't know, but is likely to be the case). Or if I don't want them to know when my message was sent I have control over that too. I don't have to worry about remembering to send it had the right time. I just set it & forget it whenever I want. It lets me know that it was sent and everything has always worked.

Good app Would recommend doing away with time swiping dial or give us the option of typing in the time and date and also experienced text messages sent out a day late when I open the app schedule another text. Not dependable at all.

Not working right It doesn't send the delayed texts unless you open the app after the scheduled time has passed. That defeats the purpose of the app. Great idea, poor execution!

Good App, But Could Be Better Ads popping up even more annoying and distracting than the ones at the bottom of the screen. Also, doesn't reliably send > 1 scheduled text message at a time. I have to open the app after the 1st text has been sent, and only then at that time will the 2nd text go through. Once this happened at 3:30 AM for a text I'd scheduled for the day before, not knowing it hadn't been sent. I felt awful as the recipient arises very early and I woke her.

No worrying about waking someone up Just schedule the text for a more appropriate time. It even makes you look like an early riser! The date-and-time selection sliders are a little awkward (I'd rather just type), but they they get the job done. Just don't schedule anything a year in the future.

Wished Happy New Year to a lot of people in mid January at 3 am Very useful app that is painfully glitchy. I used it to send "Happy New Year" to a bunch of people at midnight on Jan 1st. When I rebooted my phone last night at 3 am, this piece of work decided it's time to resend all of these messages at once to all of these people. Now I'm sending my awkward apologies to those I upset with this glitch

Recurring??? &... Why aren't there recurring options. I want to send the same reminder every month to 2 people. Add that & I'll increase my score. Also my first scheduled text didn't send until I opened the app again. Needs major updates

Special characters The app works fine here with scheduled messages. But I have a problem with special characters in Portuguese language, like á ç Ê etc. Useless to me, unfortunately.

Totally malfunctioned I used this app to try and schedule some texts to be sent at a reasonable hour the next day because I thought of it late at night. But it actually sent the texts SEVERAL DAYS LATER at 2:00 a.m. I had to apologize to all the people I sent a text to. This is a terrible app!!! It doesn't do what it was supposed to do at all. If I could, I wouldn't even rate it 1 star, but that's as low as I can give it.

Good, needs serious work At first this worked fine but then I realised if I schedule multiple texts in the same day, it will send all of them at the latest time! Very bad. I wish there were a history of texts sent. Finally the time selection part of the app is clunky, why not have an option to simply type in the time, rather than scrolling through time slots?

The quality of the app fluctuates 7/10 of texts get sent without any problems, and 3/10 of texts get sent multiple times and are delayed. You won't be able to know when it could work or fail. This app is risky to use if you're scheduling messages related to your career, professional life, and meetings.

A novel and useful app. Its hard to think of reasons to use it, but sometimes I just need it and its super handy! If I need to let someone know something by the morning but I don't want to wake them, or if I get a text from a girl I like and I can't sit on my hands!

Terrible app. Messages gets sent hours later and no rhyme or reason on time. Plus no history on messages sent so you have no idea if and when it was sent unless you go to your messaging app to check individually. Uninstalling.

Multiple messages I used this app to remind customers of appointments. It stated sending up to 8 identical messages to the same person! I had to apologize for blowing up their inboxes. THIS APP MADE ME LOOK LIKE A FOOL!

Works, but... I hate the UI! Why can I not just type the exact time at which to send? The "time slider" idea is just not good. Sure, it's quick, but what if I want to send at, say, 10:33 for whatever reason? Without having the slider set to show every minute, and thus making it incredibly cumbersome, there is no way. Let me TYPE the date & time, not slide to a "close" entry. Uninstalled due to its UI.

24 hour clock please or larger am pm chars Very usefull app. A great problem solver for me. Very gratefull you took the time to write this and release it essentially for free.Would ask if chars for AM P M are made larger or option of 24hr clock. ADDITION.. having recieved several complaints in the early hours I have decided to abandon this app. I find the date input too confusing.The characters showing AM or PM are far too small with result I am getting cimplaints from customers recieving texts in the early hours. Shame good app spoilt.

Now Obselete This was a GREAT App, it allowed me to better manage my time, and also to not text people at ungodly hours, update: However I've found that I can use the native Messenger on my Samsung to do exactly what this App does, Uninstalled, also recently, the messages that I sent with the App did not show up in my native messenger view.

Sends scheduled text 4-5 times In general this app works ok. I have been using it for over a year (with a samsung galaxy S5). However, recently I have noticed a recurring bug. About half of the time it will send a scheduled text 4-5 times to the same person which is really annoying to both the recipient and is is annoying for me to have to aplogize for blowing up their phone. Please fix. Please fix this bug and I would give it 5 stars.

I scheduled 10 texts and they were not sent unless I went in and checked in to make sure they were delivered. And some we're not sent that we're supposed to be delivered a week or more ago. I will be using a different app. This didn't do what it was needed. Very disappointed.

Great tool especially where you want to send something to loved one but it's j u st that bit too early. Just one thing that stopped the 5*: there is no warning when you want to edit a scheduled item and accidentally hit the delete icon

It Works!!!! This app really works like it says it would. My one problem is that it will not send when needed if you phone has a weak signal. Otherwise, it is spot on. Great for sending my wife a to do list when a think about it at 3 in the morning. Set it up and it gets delivered right on schedule.

Easy to use Does what it is supposed to... Wish 'am'/'pm' font was larger on time selection... Hard for me to read even with glasses... No problem for those with good eyesight I'm sure! Otherwise very pleased!
