App/company needs improvement I attempted to sign up as a driver until I was informed that you had to be employed by or enrolled in an educational institution. Why? Don't know. What gets me is that I wasted 20 minutes filling in information before this fact was apparent.
They charge you per mile I would never pay for carpooling application when it charges you per mile!!! iCarpool uses a share-the-expense carpool model and riders pay a flat fee of $0.26 per mile through the app that is used as their share towards the expense of the trip.
Great idea executed well The app is really intuitive to use. The development team helped me setup riders for my trip and were really responsive to any queries.
Neat Good idea and neat execution. I look forward to using it.
The software seems to work fine, but my commute is 20 miles long. At $0.26 a trip, carpooling is more expensive than a bus ride. Carpooling could be faster if everything aligns just right, but I'm not sure that's worth the added expense.
On Samsung Galaxy Note 5. Update as of 2/12/2016 The development team was very responsive and provided me test builds that I was able to successfully install and use. This was a hard-to-reproduce and rarely reported bug but the development team dedicated experts to get to the bottom of it and fix the issue.
