Works perfectly. @Adam boozer Some things simply require root. Look at proxydroid for instance. Its features which are similar to this require root. Dont knock it simply because you think programmers have to be bad if they cant add features without SU access. If they could add features without SU access or even the need for busybox.... Dont you think they would have? Lol. Excellent app guys, works perfectly.
No name resolution My DSL went down so I tried this. Log filled with name resolution failures. Possibly OS' fault, only resolving over 802.11 NIC even though my LTE NIC is up.
Gets around tethering restrictions! My wireless provider still illegally blocks tethering. With this app, I can access anything that runs on http or https and supports a proxy. (Basically, anything that runs a browser.) I do need to know how to set up a proxy on my computer.
ads, no security displays ads, cannot secure proxy with login and password. looks like by default everyone can use your phone as a proxy. you can limit conmections by IP, but it may be bothersome IP can change every time
Excellent My ISP want to charge me another £6 for 500mb for extra use and none of the tethering apps worked so first thing I done was search Proxy Server and got this. Job done. -- Edit: after using it regularly it's prone to crash and won't let me download any files larger than 17mb. Data stops at that point no matter the file. But it's still usefull even when the app crashes the server stays running.
Not bad Works like a charm. One problem: the app was not adopted to jelly bean. For example, I can't find a save button in profile edit screen. To save profile we need to hit the back button and then press "yes" in save confirmation dialog
- Fixed a small bug so the first line of the header (after POST, GET, CONNECT) is being used to extract the host name.
- Added the option to start the server directly when the app starts (and wasn't running in the background)
- Fixed bugs which should solve stability issues of the servers
- Added the option to save the server settings to the sdcard to prevent removal during upgrades
- and more!
