Do Not get the free trial subscription. You will be charged without consent. According to the email I got when I signed up for the trial subscription, you can cancel your subscription from your subscription manager page in your Amazon account. Comixology subscriptions do not appear anywhere in your Amazon account. The charge will appear as an Amazon charge on your bank statement, and give you an Amazon number to call. But Amazon customer service will not be able to cancel or reverse the charge. You will then be sent an email from Amazon with an email address for Comixology. There is no phone number for Comixology. There is also no way to cancel your subscription through Amazon or through the Comixology app. And frankly, the Comixology library is not worth the hassle. Get physical comics from your local store or order online. Don't get tangled up with this company.
The app is very well developed, with little to no bugs that I have personally encountered. Having access to the largest library of comic books and graphic novels leaves the user with hundreds of hours worth of content to go through and explore. The proprietary Guided View Technology makes reading the content unbelievably easy and arguably more entertaining. All round, the app allows die hard comic fans and comic new comers alike to enjoy the comic book medium.
The app makes digital comics readable to even older fans like me. The guided mode assures you are reading panels and balloons in the correct order. My biggest pet peeve is the inability of the app to store the comics files on external storage. The comic files can be large, especially when downloading a graphic novel. This can quickly fill up a devices internal storage. With this ability it would be a five-star app.
This app is a great way to read comics. Although reading the comics alone is fairly easy to do, getting around the actual app is a little tricky, without much of a tutorial it's sort of a DIY thing for a while. Things that could be fixed are being able to find the redemption code bar, the amount of lists in your library, the difference between my books and library seems unless with the amount of lists in the library, and I think it would help if the comic was automatically downloaded when purchased, I don't think anyone would buy a digital comic and not download to read it.
This is a great app. My only problem is, sometimes I find it a little hard to get to the comics in my device when I'm offline. Also, when I download books, and want to, say, watch YouTube while it downloads, it stops downloading. I usually read TPBs and Graphic Novels, so it takes a while to download.
Cluttered and unintuitive! "Smart mode" is a mess! The whole UI looks like a total clusterfuck. It is very unintuitive that IDK where to find the books I just bought! There was nothing wrong with the old UI so IDK what prompted this HORRIBLE change!
