Review from Anthony Pifer
Back after 20 years I love this app.I jumped off of comics back in '92.got this app and am back in.the new 52 from DC is great jumping on point.marvel now is OK.new favorite series of 2012 for is Saga.highly recommend. UPDATE:Amazon needs to really get on the sd card support. I have bought a lot of comics on here but without sd card support it is pretty useless to me.Will rerate 5 stars when this is fixed.i have 30 gigs waiting for my collection. Thinking about going to Marvel Unlimited.
September 25, 2015I'll pass along your interest in SD card support, Anthony! Keep in mind that your library is cloud-based and you can freely delete and redownload as often as you'd like.
I've never been a fan of comic books. After watching many seasons of The Walking Dead I decided to read some of the comics. I'm a long time Kindle owner so I bought a few issues through Amazon. While searching for "Comics" in the Google Play store I saw the Comixology app. I gave it a try and it was such a pleasurable experience that I began to read other comics just so I could enjoy the app more. The guided view is the best way to read. I'd recommend this app to everyone. If you are a heavy comic reader you should subscribe to Comically Unlimited. It gives you access to literally thousands of comics to read at your will. I give this app 5 stars EASILY.
Do Not get the free trial subscription. You will be charged without consent. According to the email I got when I signed up for the trial subscription, you can cancel your subscription from your subscription manager page in your Amazon account. Comixology subscriptions do not appear anywhere in your Amazon account. The charge will appear as an Amazon charge on your bank statement, and give you an Amazon number to call. But Amazon customer service will not be able to cancel or reverse the charge. You will then be sent an email from Amazon with an email address for Comixology. There is no phone number for Comixology. There is also no way to cancel your subscription through Amazon or through the Comixology app. And frankly, the Comixology library is not worth the hassle. Get physical comics from your local store or order online. Don't get tangled up with this company.
The app makes digital comics readable to even older fans like me. The guided mode assures you are reading panels and balloons in the correct order. My biggest pet peeve is the inability of the app to store the comics files on external storage. The comic files can be large, especially when downloading a graphic novel. This can quickly fill up a devices internal storage. With this ability it would be a five-star app.
Definitely my favorite app on my phone, which is funny since I joined Comixology specifically so I could read comics on my desktop computer. I've found that having my Comixology library with me at all times means I get far more reading done than I ever would have otherwise. I can't recommend the app or the company highly enough! Plus, their frequent sales are fantastic!
I love this app! Although it's not as good as having an actual comic in your hand it's the next best thing. The unlimited is a great way to explore more and different genres from publishers other then the big two. Honestly feel like this app made me fall in love with comics all over again. Plus they have some pretty great sales
Guided view is excellent! Everything runs smoothly with a variety of viewing options. You can get some great sales to bag a few bargains too! My only problem with it is that it asks if I want to connect my amazon account, which I have no interest in doing and how it requires you to do this in order to get Comixology unlimited.
