Big catalog, plenty of DRM-Free comics and GuidedView makes reading a pleasure! For comic fans, this is the ultimate application, because comiXology is easy-to-use, has GuidedView for comfortable reading and even offers comics without DRM (digital rights management - copyright protection) from a large number of publishers. I used to purchase digital comics from Marvel Comics, DC Comics and Dark Horse Comics, but since I found out that comiXology is offering DRM-free comics, I stick to the publishers offering such content via comiXology...
New interface is awful. I finally decided to update, after waiting months due to negative feedback. This nowhere near as functional. It's absurdly cluttered, and takes far longer to figure out which books are already downloaded, and queue up new downloads. Very disappointed to see another amazing app get harder to use over time.
LG Volt Guided view is awesome. Got some free comics from marvel and decided to use comixology since you can get non-marvel comics too and now I'm addicted. Go to the website and set yourself up to get free comics without a card or paypal. Then download them to the app for free from your list of "purchased" comics. I recommend buying some comics though after you get into it. Comixology is awesome.
Needs one critical function but otherwise perfect When I first started getting into comics I looked far and wide for s great online distributor and comixology is the very best and that goes double for the app. This is especially true with the degrading of the functionality of the on-site comic reader. The one thing this app really needs is the ability to send the comics I download directly to my SD card. Because i can't do that I cannot hold all of the comics I want to read on my phone at once without sacrificing speed and s lot of necessary space
I dig this app because it does provide a quality digital platform for reading comics. HOWEVER I do have an issue with it in terms of its storage management. It would be MUCH better if it stored the data for your comics on the external memory. So far on my Samsung Nook Galaxy tab i you can move the app to the SD card, but the actual data bloats up the local storage. that means I have to constantly micromanage which comics are on my device, I would rather have a decent chunk of my comics on my device and just swap out when I go REALLY overboard. I mean isn't the purpose of the digital medium MAXIMUM portability?
Does not work anymore This app hasn't work on any of my android devices in months. My comics don't update, I can't access the store anymore. I used to use this app once I starting exclusively reading digitally, but now its completely useless.
