This app is incredible! Its simple and amazingly convenient. Over years I have accumulated thousands of great articles which I can easily tag, search and read at ease. The recent update has taken a bit of simplicity of this app, but I believe this was a logical next step to becoming a one stop recommendation plus read it later solution. I'd like to see its recommendation engine to become better and better while perhaps also adding a subscription feature (like RSS based Feedly) in future.

Amazing app which I have used for 4 years. But now I have well over 3,000 articles. By clicking on Archive it seems to be downloading the deleted ones too. There is no way to delete articles in Archive without selecting them individually. Therefore I am going to open up approx. 100 useful articles and start a fresh account. I assume this will leave a load of data on Pocket's servers, so I would think that it is in everybody's interest to fix this for the future, so that it is easier to remove Archived articles. And ideally delete all articles without a label added before X date. Otherwise thank you Pocket team, this has been a great app for me.

What's annoying though is: 1.) that the Android phone app doesn't remember where I left an article and does not let me continue from there when I open the app again. It works fine on my tablet but not on the phone. 2.) that in list view the icons for "delete" etc don't show - I just get a grey block when I press longer. 3.) that there is no way to find articles by the time they were saved. If you save as much help as I do a premium function that let's you access the articles by date / period would be really helpful (e. g. "show me all articles from June 2016" ) 4.) that you can't bulk delete.

I don't have habit of reading books, magazines even newspapers. One day I was going through the apps in palystore and accidentally installed POCKET and I thought to give it a try, at first I don't have any idea what I was doing with this, latter on I found an article that I can't stop reading and I continued to add more articles and my habit has completely changed. With the help of pocket I'm able to find new things daily. Amazing app to improve yourself.
The new layout has totally destroyed the simplicity of the app. It's also moved from primarily being a place to store pages of interest to one which want to suggest new content. Additionally, horizontal scrolling elements are not as useful for finding content - as you can only see one or two links. I'm starting to look for alternatives.

I would recommend this app for the text to speech function along. I love the ability to have webpages read to me and the voice is pretty smooth and not too robot like and grating. Only thing that stopped me giving it 5 stars was that I thought Pocket whole point was to cache webpages for later offline reading, but I've returned to pages I've saved only to find them missed. It it's not take a copy of a pages, just a link surely It's not much different from a normal browser bookmark?

* [Quick update for 2017, four years later: ] * Attitude towards the user-styled decluttered content aggregators has changed. I like what they do, but they still interfere with pageviews. NewsBlur is still my favorite, followed by Feedly, but I keep Pocket still for it's main "read later" functionality. Still 4/5 stars because nothing's perfect my friend. *My Original review:* Pocket changed its original "read it later" bookmarks app and seems to be after a newer market -- the iOS InstaPaper crowd. That's fine with me, it's actually pretty decent especially on a tablet. But I don't use Pocket for Pocket, I use it for Read It Later in the browser and I'm happy the devs make improvements but still have kept it simple. [ Why did I bother writing this? ]

Unstable after the latest update. Freezes and fails to load when there's no internet. The app used to be awesome for reading articles offline and would take me directly to my list of articles. Now for some stupid reason, they've decided to start the app on a home page, which requires internet access. It's mind boggling. Edit: after many failed attempts to get the app to load (I was on a plane), I was finally able to change the default start page to my list. I wish the app developers started me there in the first place. So frustrating!

I hate the new home view -- scrolling left and right and up and down. The article is now smaller because the one to the right is cutoff and the one below it is cutoff as well. I would rather have the old recommendations view back with tabs across the top to select the different categories rather than scrolling in all directions.

I had to leave the beta program because I really dislike the new home screen. I like the simple 2 tabs, one for your list and another for recomendations. By the way, I love the endless recommendation list, I learn a lot from the recommended articles. I hope the new beta home screen doesn't make it to the release version. Otherwise I might have to find another app.

Now the app continues to be the best app of its kind. The offline reading feature is perfect, and i even subscribed to the Pocket Hits newsletter to receive quality stories every morning to read over coffee. Also, allowing users to recommend articles with quotes and insights is a nice feature, and i think there's a lot of potential with growing the Pocket community. Overall, appreciate the app, keep it up devs!

Now like everything else, it's trying to become a social network. Time to abandon ship. Quite a shame. Have over a thousand articles saved. Was one of my favorite apps.

Thanks for reporting! Yes, we are planning to make the Pocket app fit the full screen on the Samsung S8. Thanks for your patience! What's with this rubbish front end? Is there any way we can get the older app back again - the one we've always had with the list up front?
This app is cool!! But I have some suggestions about listen(tts) after enabling it; current reading is on but If you noticed after clicking on screen rather than a layout of current reading.. Listen is stop. So may I suggest to create a slide bar for current reading and If possible highlight that sentence as per dictating goes forward.. It is really being a awesome. People would like to listen with seeing that content. Thanks!!
They removed Recommendations for some godforsaken reason. That's how I found most of my reading. Now there are only a couple, awkward to scroll lines on the new Home tab that only suggest a few pieces. Awful. Bring back the Recommendations tab. This update was completely useless to me.

I loved the pocket of all with the 2 simple saved and recommended tabs. Really wished it could stay that way. It was a fuss free UI, easy to scroll and I could read as many recommended articles as my heart desired. Can't seem to do that with the new UI. I hardly leave reviews but since pocket is one of the apps I use religiously, I really hope the developers can improve on the future version.

I know the new home page sucks: to fix it just go to settings and change the default page the app opens at. So now when you open pocket you'll start at your saved list.
If there is an added organization option to put the desired pages into your own way of categorzing. Maybe a simple folder, sub-folder concept would do.

This is an amazing app for people who loves reading articles on the net. Best part of the app is you can sync it with to your PC/laptop/Mac as well..
The ** is for the latest UI update which now freezes the app when it loads. Previously this was never a problem.

Thanks for letting us know! You can report links to us directly at support+review@getpocket.com. We'll be glad to help improve how your favorite saves display in Pocket! The best feature is TTS. Makes "reading" articles that i otherwise dont have the patience to stop and read consumable.
I like the app very much in terms of helping me save articles and read them later or read them in a condensed "easy-to-comprehend" manner. I would love it and definitely give it a 5-star rating if it has the following three features : 1) Capable of searching articles within the app 2) Categories to choose so as to get recommendations ONLY from interested topics. The current version of the app gives a mixed bag of topics, most of which I'm not interested in. 3) Articles from famous news apps all under one app I really like this app and would love it if you could include the aforementioned features in your future updates. Keep up the good work!

A keeper. Responsive development team. One thing that is missing is a way to know what articles you opened but not completely read.

Awesome app. To make it better: 1 Can you overlay a big button on each title page "Play TTS" so it's easy to start when I am driving? 2 on my list can you overlay a button "Read Titles" with a button on each title being scrolled "Read Aloud"? With these t wo options you'd have the best on the road content consumption app on the market
App opens quickly and works very well. It's easier than putting bookmarks and searching through them later. I do like the listen and speak feature as I don't have to read everything I can listen to it talk to me. Keep up the good work on this app and I also like the black background that works very well at night. I highly recommend this app to anyone
One of the best app for me, as a writer! I always have some fun searching through internet about writing tips, references, interesting facts and the list can goes on! When I found something interesting it will be a strugge for me if I lost it without write it down on the papers, or even copy-paste it in my computer. Now I used this app and I don't have to do all that. Hope to see more features in the future, and please stay awesome for free users like me ^^ thank you. Good job so far!
