It's ok... It's ok. Works well with some articles yet for others it doesn't save the whole article especially somethings in list form like ingredients to a recipe or a list of materials. And not all articles are viewable offline. Hopefully they'll improve on this over time. It's not bad for a free app though.
Indispensable I have been using Pocket daily. My main use cases are as follows: 1. Collect: articles from Twitter, or web into Pocket. 2. Listen to via text-to-speech of Pocket to those collected articles. Here is my wish: I'd like to be able to select a batch of articles for text-to-speech. Currently, I have to select article one by one, after finishing listening to one, then go back to Pocket for another one. It's OK if I don't drive, but when I drive it would be hard to continue listening to after the selected one finishes. It would be also OK, if Pocket provides a driver-mode, like the currently defunct Umeno, to continuously listening to whatever articles in my collection/queue. It's OK that some of the article may not be feasible to listen, just skip those. I noticed that even the Pocket's UI is almost ready to support that: there is a menu item called Batch edit, with it, one can select articles for batch operations. It's matter of adding text-to-speech to the batch operations supported. Please let me know if there is already such support, and how.
A bucket of things I am interested in. Now I can share things I enjoy with people, so that they can get an insight into things I enjoy but do not have time to read.
Had it's slips, ups and downs This app used to be great until the Pro version came in. The webpages I Pocketed before are now gone when the websites they came from shut down. Also I couldnt download webpages to read later when on proxy server connection.
Necessary For anyone who wants to effectively discover and collect important, interesting and constructive articles and pieces of writings from the internet, Pocket is an app that must be installed. The idea behind this app is simple yet ingenious. I hope that the Pocket team will continuously work together to improve this app in the future.
Have -and love- Pocket on my computer, so happy to be able to access articles, recipes and whatnot on my phone, especially when offline. Major thanks to the creators of Pocket; such a great idea for a place to collect and store anything you want to read or reference later! One thing I would love to see: Say you save an article, and there are links to -for instance- photos; you can't access the links while offline. If that were made possible at some point, I would love Pocket even more. Still, as it is, Pocket is a great app! :)
