Review from Ben Rogers
This is INCREDIBLE! Works perfectly! Installed on my Windows XP Pro machine and my Nexus 7 tablet. Could not be MORE IMPRESSED! To cut down the lag, all I needed to do was disconnect the connection between the devices and set the display compression to "Normal". This is one of the most amazing apps for Android! With this Normal setting, iDisplay only uses about 14% of my computer CPU. I'm going to tell everyone about this app!
Has potential but doesn't work in landscape mode on my Moto X pure - resolution 1440x2392. When I start the app in landscape mode (by tilting phone first) screen is distorted and unreadable. In portrait mode, apps not really useable and cursor is very very small. Also - cursor tracking is spotty. PLEASE IMPROVE THIS PRODUCT! It is a great idea. I will try on a tablet but I suspect that the landscape mode will still be a problem.
Using Windows. The auto-detect didn't work but after adding the PC manually it worked flawlessly. For anyone else having trouble connecting, mouse over the iDisplay icon in the system tray on Windows and it will show your PC IP and the port needed by iDisplay to connect. Enter these into the app manually using the Plus icon. Worked like a charm after that.
Used in the past with my tablet, and was fairly happy with it. After my tablet died, I didn't have much use for it. After getting a new tablet for Christmas, I was very surprised to find that USB connectivity had been removed for Windows hosts. Since I use this primarily for my work PC, and the wired and wireless networks are completely separate, I am totally unable to use this software any longer.
Caused Windows 10 crash (black screen) on restart after 1st use. Change to display adapters caused RAM issues in Photoshop (& crash caused Library file errors). Had to run System Restore. Initially worked great via wifi. Issues seem to be with the driver/server on the PC side. A great concept poorly (or too broadly) executed. Bummer.
Picked up the PC but didn't connect at first between Win10 and Galaxy Tab S2. When I manually added to the windows firewall it connected like a breeze and has since. Ever slight lag with the cursor of wifi so please sort the USB option. But, it worked well once setup and was perfect for static / slow referencing.
Bit rubbish. Can't really believe that this doesn't allow you to duplicate a display on Windows! I get the impression that they couldn't really give a monkeys about Windows and Android and are only really interested in the ios version.
