Review from Daniel Robinson
I've enabled the battery almost dead deture and it has been storing up days and days of notifications and all of a sudden today, my wife gets all of them at the same time. That's about useless.
Great, when it works - which isn't often. The applets I've tried are either useless or hardly work. Location based applets work intermittently a couple of times and then give up completely. One designed to turn off my WiFi when I leave home and then back on when I return will leave it on for hours after I've left and randomly turn it off when I'm still at home. Another one, this one supposed to update me via my watch when my phone is charging, is nowhere near accurate enough and often gives me an update several hours after I've unplugged the phone. Easier, better and more reliable to do the things yourself.
Brilliant especially if you have the tech to support it. Doesn't take long to get the hang of how it works, and incredibly powerful IF you have an afternoon to tinker - remember, this links services that don't talk directly, it's not a magic service in and of itself that will whatever you want. I would highly recommend, what have you got to lose by trying it out.
Great potential, but fails to deliver. I've waited over 1½ hours to receive notifications that the app tells me happened immediately after the trigger. With such huge delays this is completely unusable. If only it worked as it's supposed to, it would be fantastic. But as it is, it's a big letdown.
Nice idea but too many broken applets and missing some things I want. Had played with a few applets but most of them didn't work and were a few things I wanted that it couldn't do. Use tasker instead as can easily make your own profiles. Has good potential if they can add more applets and a review system for applets would be good to weed out non working applets.
Great concept, poor execution so far...Started with a couple simple recipes to control WiFi & ringer volume based on location. I'm up to 9 simple recipes now based on leave/arrive home/work/family locations. They rarely work and I have to manually perform all the functions myself. So far... prettay, prettay, prettay worthless... even if it is free.... UPDATE: should be logging my arrival at work. Hasn't worked for several months now. Sad.
Its a simplified "tasker". The fact that it doesn't require root access and a formula can be completed within a minute, makes it much more accessible.
+ When configuring a Gmail, Android SMS, or Android Phone Call Applet you can now pick from the contacts on your phone when you're filling in a phone number or email.
+ We made some background updates that should make your experience in the app faster. Zoom, zoom!
Thanks for IFTTT-ing!
