I love this app! IFTTT sounds so complicated and PHD in particle physics from MIT like. Little did I know it means "If This Then That," kind of like [Even] "If You don't have a highly technical and impressive degree from MIT then you can still use this app." Oh yeah. 😎 Gangster.
ITFFF is great for integrating services. It has a simple and intuitive interface. There are plenty of premade applets for many tasks. Only gripes are time can only be set in 15 minute increments (15,30,45,60) and it isn't as feature rich as a similar service, Integromat. For example, ITFFF can't download images from a specified Flickr profile, so I had to use Integromat. (I made an applet to send Flickr SpaceX images to a Google drive folder which would sync with a local folder on my MacBook, which used the folder for a slideshow wallpaper.) Also, at the name implies, if this then that, you can't do if this then that then do that and that and that. One of the IFTTT applets I enjoy is a daily email of free ebooks from the subreddit. I would have to create another IFTTT applet to scan my inbox, find that email, and do something with it. With something like Integromat, having these kind of dynamic interactions is child's play.
This is a good idea but, it has a poor user interface. Open the your IFTT page and they all look the same and disorganized. It makes editing and adding routines difficult. The more routines that you have the more difficult it gets. For example, we use IFTT to control window shades. As you can imagine there are many routines and several shades. I look at the interface and they all look the same. No unique, meaningful label and they are scattered on the page with routines for other devices in the mix.
I always forget to set my phone to silent when I get to work, but not anymore. I also have set up automation with social media so I can better share stuff.
Love ifttt💖 the things you can do make your day sooo much easier ^_^ and with Alexa too.
Great app. Would love to see further integration with Blynk for example adding support for blynk button control not just switch control.
+ Nothing to see here... jk jk.
+ This update includes stability improvements as well as support for an upcoming feature.
+ Also, newly published on IFTTT since the last update: TxHash (which is a pretty neat blockchain service, check it out!)
