I had this app for ages without ever getting into it. I recently purchased a Google Home and have used IFTTT to teach it to do a few useful things, most notably adding items to my shopping. You should have seen the look on the Tesco driver's face when I added something to the shopping cart just by speaking. Priceless. EDIT: I just knocked a couple of stars off. Can't do simple commands to the same service as the trigger and restricts the services available for an action after a trigger is created. Basic, basic stuff.
Great idea. BUT It just dosnt reliably work. You can set up amazing stuff but you can't rely on it.. for e.g. I set up turn wifi off and volume up when leaving home using gps. and sometimes it runs sometimes it runs much later but most of the time not at all... you can't really track car journeys etc as its just too fkaky.. shame really.
Good, and will get better. Lots of integration into many services. I was using the gps location and found it unreliable at times, but assume this is an Android implementation rather than an iffft version of gps. Eventually got sick of it and just used a wifi rule to do what I needed to do (if drop off wifi then do some stuff with arlo and Piper cameras). Better than the Microsoft tool by a country mile.
This is utterly unreliable. As test I installed IFTTT and setup a thing in it from its library that when ever I enter my work location it writes a record in a specific calendar in google calendar. guess what, it wirked for the first 3 days and then ... nothing. since then it got updated once but still it is not functional. everything in the app looks ok and running but because there is no good logging system I can't tell why on earth it does not work. so its a good toy for the first 3 days and then its just taking some space on your phone. I've tried few others and they are way more robust.
😔 Used to work great but since turning off all alerts it decided it doesn't want to take me to any screens. Now it just goes thru the login loop of by email or facebook.
Randomly turns my wifi on and off. Thought it was that I had it installed on my tablet, too, which never leaves my house but I think it's just the app. That stopped being a problem on my tablet when I uninstalled it on that device but continues to be an issue on my phone. It also doesn't always turn *on* my wifi in the locations it's supposed to, either.
