Don't be fooled by ilumi's support. They are all over this site providing "help" via email for PR purposes (ooooh look! They're responsive), but nothing they provide works. Turn over in support must be dismal (why would anyone want to provide so much useless help?) The software is among the worst out there especially v2. I have 20 of these bulbs and my frustration has hit its limit. Months of sheer utter frustration. I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S7
Isn't Mark Cuban part of this? I feel conned at this point. Think we need to get together as fellow ripoffee's and do something. Had it working, they keep changing, so even when I get it fixed, they will update and break it again. Am wishing I could sell my bulbs at this point, wasted money. This was the ONLY stable way I had to my bulbs and as of today, am not able to hit them from any device. It was nice when it worked, why this has to be a constant moving target, I can't understand.
I HAVE OFFICIALLY GIVEN UP ON ILUMI. I've had this bulb for maybe 3 years. And when you pay 80 bucks for a bulb that can do amazing things, like sync to music, change colors and all that, you assume (for 80 freakin' bucks) that it's actually going to do all those things. Well, it really can't do the music thing. AT ALL. I have tried before and there's nothing synchronized about it. Your team should be flagged for using the word "synchronized" for describing random, spastic lighting sequences. And the app itself is honestly a travesty. It is so counter-intuitive and difficult to understand. Create a scene.... You mean setup my light? Why on earth would someone think it's a good idea to describe the bulb's main function as "creating a scene"? And the drop down menu to do ANYTHING. Like, who on earth designed this thing? Why can't you find my bulb anymore? So many questions. And honestly, GOOD LUCK if there's a firmware update. The amount of times the color randomly changes during these updates is ridiculous. You WILL GO BLIND if you don't leave the room your bulb is in... or maybe have a seizure.
Well designed, lots of useful features, just needs better connectivity to the bulbs. This version is far preferable to the new app.
Nice Bulb This thing is sweet!!! Installation was a breeze. I was able to pair it with nexgus 7 without any hiccup. I installed three of these and all work without any problem. A little bit of lag when changing color using color wheel and when adjusting brightness, but not too bad. There's always room for improvement, but overall works great! Looking to purchase more in the near future when the price drops like on cyber Monday. Update: this app is completely broke.
Hardware great! App? Not so much Lightbulb is impressive. The app is complicated. Has too many options where there shouldn't be (if torch and shake are ad-hoc functions, why set a timer?) So far I've tried Misfit's Bolt and the Ilumi and I can say that if your two companies had a baby bulb, it would be the smartest, most beautiful bulb out there.
If you already have an account setup with ilumi, you will need to log-out and log back into the app after downloading this version to access your ilumi network.
The ilumi gen1 app is no longer being maintained or supported. We highly recommend that you download the ilumi app and migrate over your account to avoid any issues with use. Thank you.
