About this app

Please Note: THIS APP IS NOT FOR MANAGING YOUR NC QUICK PASS ACCOUNT.
Separate registration and credentials are required for this app or you can use your login from www.ncquickpasshov.com.

The NC Quick Pass HOV mobile application allows users with an active NC Quick Pass transponder account the ability to declare High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) status and travel in the express lanes free of charge for declared trips when they have 3 or more occupants in the vehicle. The app is currently only available for NC Quick Pass customers for use in North Carolina on the I-77 Express Lanes.

In order to use the app, users must have an active NC Quick Pass transponder account in good standing and a properly installed transponder in the vehicle. Users will need to register for a NC Quick Pass HOV account and provide the transponder number(s) and license plate number(s) for each vehicle. Users may register up to five transponders and license plates per account.

Once registered, a simple interface allows users to declare HOV status and begin a trip, or declare a future HOV status by scheduling a trip. Users may also extend or cancel active HOV status declarations. Please note any new HOV status declarations, as well as changes to the status of existing HOV declarations, must be made at least 15 minutes prior to traveling in the express lanes.

When a transponder(s) has an active HOV status, the home screen will display the amount of time remaining on the active “HOV ON” declaration status, as well as the time at which the HOV status will end. If you are in the 15-minute time period after entering an HOV status declaration and before the HOV status is active, the countdown will show the amount of time until the HOV status becomes active, and will indicate a “PENDING” HOV status.

Users are able to edit their NC Quick Pass HOV app account information, update their NC Quick Pass transponders associated with app as well as view past HOV declarations. Users are also able to easily navigate to the NC Quick Pass website for NC Quick Pass transponder account management.

IMPORTANT – This app should not be used while operating a motor vehicle. The user agrees to use the app responsibly and avert any interaction with the app on a mobile device while operating a motor vehicle.

This app doesn't work. I have tried it several different days and still have not gotten in to the main features. I have finally gotten to the point where I was able to create a password. Only for the app to say my zip code doesn't exist. If I brought the NC pass where I was dependent on this app, I would have been thoroughly upset. Meaning, if I needed this app to update my status, stating I had more than 3 individuals in my vehicle going into the HOV lane, I don't see how it would have worked! Someone needs to fix this problem.

Never works! Joke. I have to call customer service every time I want to declare HOV because I can't log in to this app. You try to reset password by sending request to your email and it won't. After 45 minutes of them trying to declare HOV for me they say I'm good to go. Then I still get a bill in the mail. I really feel that they make it difficult on purpose. Negative infinite stars

I can't log in. Whether using my Note10+, iPhone 7, or Samsung S9, it wont allow me to log in, although I can through the website. It appears that the app developer needs to fix this issue quickly if we intend to use the toll lanes and HOV option.
