Welcome to Scania cleaning map!
This app is used to plan and communicate cleaning efforts to reduce litter in Scania - in the city, in nature on land and in the sea. With the help of the app, you can quickly and easily report areas in need of cleaning, planned cleaning efforts and participate in cleaning activities. The map facilitates communication and streamlines the handling of litter in nature for connected municipalities, entrepreneurs and all volunteers who want to contribute to a litter-free Skåne.
How to use the cleaning map
In the map form, select category depending on action. There are four different categories.
CLEANED – when you have cleaned an area. Shown with a green marker in the map.
CLEANING NEEDED - when you notice an area that needs cleaning. The need for cleaning can inspire volunteers to a cleaning effort, but is also reported to the municipality concerned. Shown in red on the map.
PICKUP NEEDED – when you have cleaned an area but are unable to dispose of the debris. The collection need is reported to the municipality concerned. Shown with a yellow marker in the map.
SCHEDULED CLEANING – when you plan to clean an area and want to invite more people to participate. Shown with a blue marker in the map.
Mark the location on the map, fill in other information and your contact details in the form and submit your case. You can also attach a picture.
You as a user can choose to receive feedback via e-mail. In this way, you can follow the progress of the case from the time the notification of the need for cleaning has been received until it has been rectified.
Do not clean in these places!
In Skåne there are three reference beaches that are part of a national environmental monitoring program where marine debris is inventoried three times a year. This measurement contributes important data and the following beaches should therefore not be cleaned by the public:
• Järavallen, Kävlinge municipality
• Nybrostrand, Ystad municipality
• Mälarhusen, Simrishamn municipality
In the cleaning map, these beaches are marked with a red prohibition symbol.
Also remember to avoid bird and seal protection areas when access is prohibited.
We stand behind the Skåne cleaning map
Skåne's cleaning map has been developed by the Skåne County Administrative Board and Marint Kunskapscenter in Malmö, with funding from Region Skåne's Environmental Protection Fund and the Scania County Administrative Board. The municipalities of Ängelholm, Helsingborg, Malmö and Vellinge and the organization Städa Sweden are also participating in the start-up work. It is also in these municipalities that you can use the cleaning map to report cleaning needs.
The inspiration for the cleaning map comes from the Västkuststiftelsen, which in 2012 developed the Strandstädarkartan.
Thank you for participating and contributing to a litter-free Scania!
