About this app

Want to manage stress or anxiety? Apply the scientifically proven technique of using sounds, lights, and vibrations to stimulate both sides of your brain.

The EMDR Tappers app was designed by researchers, veterans, and licensed eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) professionals to replicate EMDR therapy tools with only a smartphone. Users can set the pace of animations, vibrations, and sounds. These stimuli are synchronized to replicate the benefits of EMDR therapy in any setting without the expensive, bulky equipment. Users can also use the app with just a single phone or two phones. All of this for free. No external, annoying ads.

The core of EMDR therapy is bilateral stimulation: alternatively stimulating each side of the brain with sounds, lights, and vibrations. EMDR is a scientifically proven method of dealing with stress, anxiety, and other negative psychological conditions. EMDR is a "strongly recommended" technique by the leading veterans' organizations, and the American Psychiatric Association has noted that EMDR is effective for treating PTSD symptoms.

This has been a great extension for me to use at home. It can really help with being calm and processing. The main improvement I suggest is making the length of the tapping, phone vibrating, variable. It would be helpful to have a longer vibration, not just a longer space between tapping. Overall the app works very well!

It's free and works well. Wish it was a computer app too, not just for mobile. I would be able to utilize the visual bilateral movement better.

I started the 2 week trial today but none of the features of premium appear. It's a good app I hate to not go premium after the trial time if I don't know the premium features
