Review from Alan Mecklenburger
Great but slightly misleading app Saying that you can shop online at your favorite grocery stores with "free delivery" without mentioning a price increase is deceptive. Being up front about what kind of price increases can be expected would fix the issue with deception. Stating the expected service cost in adding to cart and the actual service cost in the receipt would create transparency and allow users to make informed decisions.
The app is super easy to use and it's very convenient. Especially if I'm watching my nephew and can't get to the grocery store.
Really easy to use and I love the communication I get with the shopper as they shop.
You can find deal's ahead of time..
Great app! Sometimes I can't get that "chat with shopper" function to work, but other than that I have zero complaints or even feature requests. Instacart is critical in keeping fresh food stocked in our home (i.e. not possible to make it to the market every few days), and the mobile app makes it super convenient.
Good when you are in a pinch. Stopped using since I'm confused as hell about the service charge and the tip. I wanna take care of everyone but not enable a business model to allow exploitation of the worker.
I applaud their customer service for trying to correct errors and make refunds where appropriate. Sadly, in the last year it has become increasingly frequent that we have to reach out to them to make a comment about an order status or error, something that was a rarity before. The amount items that get refunded (which to me means no effort to accommodate a replacement) has increased exponentially or there any many items are charged for but are not received. There is no point in having convenience of a service such as this if the shoppers are sub-par.
