Adds important (for me) features to Tasker, but Google ... I have found this to be an essential tool when writing Tasker code. In fact, most of my important tasks call Secure Settings at some point. Unfortunately, Google keeps throwing a spanner into the works whenever they produce a new version of Android. The latest spanner means that toggling Mobile Data requires root access on my Nexus 5 (Lollipop 5.0.1) using SS 1.3.6, but the Nexus is not rooted! Later: Decided that I can't manage with a limited SS, so I have rooted the Nexus 5 (and Nexus 9) Now on lollipop 5.1. The only problem seems to be toggling Mobile Data, which the dev will be fixing with the next release. Another Google spanner!
Love it! Update: lost two stars, not compatible with 7.0 Would love to see notification light access and integration for locale (I need to turn that sucker off at night!) but aside from that this is an amazing app. Love the individual help menus for each feature, although a little more detail might be helpful for da noobs. A solid A.
It makes my Tasker tasks more powerful... Even with Google always removing some features from API, this app brings them back. Update: Doesn't detect root with SuperSU 2.76, needs an update, but developers seems to have abandoned this app.
Issues with secure setting pro Keep getting this message when I try to activate task with tasker. Attention: the failed login attempt feature is broken on this version of android. Google will need to fix the OS for this to work again. I am on nexus5 I want to know if there is a way around this problem. I had to root my phone thinking it would fix the problem but no way, guys help please
Was good till I upgraded to lollipop I have a galaxy note 3 running TouchWiz lollipop 5.0. Secure settings installs itself as system /app after reboot and then says it's an invalid configuration. I have removed it using titanium backup and then installed as user app. But after reboot, it gets reinstalled to system/app and says invalid configuration again. It tries to initiate Helper download but installation fails. Unable to use system + module despite having purchased pro version. What's the point then?
So powerful, yet free?! This plugin is insanely useful! Unfortunately there's been no updates since last year, thus Marshmallow users are unable to enjoy root options any more.
