Adds important (for me) features to Tasker, but Google ... I have found this to be an essential tool when writing Tasker code. In fact, most of my important tasks call Secure Settings at some point. Unfortunately, Google keeps throwing a spanner into the works whenever they produce a new version of Android. The latest spanner means that toggling Mobile Data requires root access on my Nexus 5 (Lollipop 5.0.1) using SS 1.3.6, but the Nexus is not rooted! Later: Decided that I can't manage with a limited SS, so I have rooted the Nexus 5 (and Nexus 9) Now on lollipop 5.1. The only problem seems to be toggling Mobile Data, which the dev will be fixing with the next release. Another Google spanner!
Love it! Update: lost two stars, not compatible with 7.0 Would love to see notification light access and integration for locale (I need to turn that sucker off at night!) but aside from that this is an amazing app. Love the individual help menus for each feature, although a little more detail might be helpful for da noobs. A solid A.
Great App 4/10 Update: Wanted to update this. App seems to be working fine with the default pattern unlock method now. Having issues with a pattern unlock profile I have set in tasker. Usually works, but randomly doesn't, and then the pattern unlock method switches to default which doesn't allow it to work anymore. Its extremely frustrating because I don't like using a pin. Other than that I like everything the app does.
Not working on my Galaxy Tab S I have Tasker running fine on a Nexus 7 and several phones. I got a new Samsung Galaxy Tab S and now it will not execute the profiles I had used previously. Update: I uninstalled both Tasker and secure settings and then re-installed and it works perfect again. I'm not sure what happen the first time but all is well.
Not what im really looking for This app is really a great app (thats why its 4 stars) but I thought it would have Security Settings for samsung so i can root my phone. But this app is still nice and easy to understand
Setting/unsetting the password doesn't work, and what's worse, it seems to have set my password to an empty one (that is, a PIN with zero numbers). I almost reached my 10-logins-then-wipe before I guessed that. It could be because my phone has encryption enabled, but still, this app shouldn't let me shoot myself in the foot quite so easily.
