On the good side, it produces very clean B&W scans with little unwanted darkening or greyed areas. Not so good was the OCR... the pdf files produced are image-only so the text is not searchable. The only thing that OCR seems to do is produce a separate text file that you can save - unfortunately I found the recognition accuracy dreadful so even this is useless to me. I'm using a Galaxy S5 with stock Android 6.01
Brilliant Look people I never rate aps. It worked so brilliantly in the un paid version I never needed to get a licence. However I wanted to remove ads, and paying my R22 odd rand to show my support in CS and for continuous improvement however none needed. Cuz this app is worth paying for. I use it often and is invaluable. Best application I have ever seen so far, glad I discovered it. If you dont have CS get it. Its more than worth it.
Best scanner and more app. I've been using this app since 2011. Its saved my butt more than once. I also use it to back up important docs quickly. It works flawlessly and is very intuitive. Very easy to share docs and collaborate on the editing of same. The scanned picture quality is impeccable. With a proper camera phone, this app replaces the need for a home scanner or fax.
I bought this app, and company bait-and-switched to subscription model Update 10/2/14: Dev cant seem to muster up the energy to write anything other than cut-and-paste reply to issues. Uninstalling due to subscription model bait-n-switch & lazy robo-reply from dev team. 9/14/14: Co.'s switch from licence to subscription is BS! I ALREADY PAID FOR THE APP! It's sketchy, and not a strategy that I will support with my dollars. Unethical and purely profit-driven
No connection what so ever after repeated tries This is a great app if the bugs are taken care of. On my Galaxy Note 3 with Android 4.4.2 it doesn't connect to network or wifi. Send 2 emails to support without a response yet. I hope I can continue using the app with a prompt response and a solution.
So I grabbed the free version and played with it for about 10 minutes...immediately knew I wanted the full. Here's why...if this bores you, get over it. My dad was a WWII Vet before he passed last week. My sister found and sent me a pocket-bible he had when he was in the trenches. In it he had written a sort of diary...with dates. "Living in foxholes." "Fighting bad." "Man and I scared." "machine guns" Then "Hospital England" (he got shot by 30-cal machine gun fire) All this in pencil was very faint...go figure, it's over 70 years old (all this happened in 1944) CamScanner Pro, with the HD quality, was able to take these pages and help them come alive...much brighter, crisp, etc. Yes, I HIGHLY recommend this Premium App.
Update: Unlock “High-Quality Scan” to full version (license) users
