The application # SP64 intends to transform, through the use of new technologies for mobile internet access, the ratio of São Paulo and visitors with the relatively recent history of the city, bringing the historical dimension of urban space that surrounds us closer each.
Over the years, we accentuate the tendency to forget and relativize the oppression experienced by the population in the civil-military dictatorship, especially for those who did not live or do not have direct contact with those who crossed 21 years. By using geolocation to bring to present this part of the story, indicating milestones of the time ( "Here, Carlos Marighella was murdered by DOPS," "Here was a torture center of Operation Bandeirante" etc.), and providing digital content on such events, # SP64 seeks to collaborate with the recovery of the memory of this period, especially among young people.
The use of a new technology and practice can function as a complement to more immediate and tangible learning for books and classes, and also for locals and tourists who are interested in history. Awareness of what happened is essential to building a democratic and just society, nothing better then than to have access to the history in the palm.
# SP64, contemplated by ProAC in 2015, is a co-realization between peripécia Movies and the Memorial of the Resistance and has the support of the Institute Vladimir Herzog. Soon, more information on SP64.org site.
